OWC Mount Pro 2.5" Drive Sled Compatible with 2009-2012 Mac Pro

It was a cold and stormy night. The rain pelted the windows, hail becoming more and more imminent as lighting cracked across the skies. I laughed maniacally as I removed the side of my beleaguered 2010 Mac Pro, seeing internals that were straining for life, but had yet to attain it. Its power disconnected, ports laid bare, and a gaping hole where the new brain (A Samsung SSD) was soon to be installed. I chuckled as another flash across the sky sent power surging through the neighborhood. "Not yet!" I commanded the skies, for my computer was not yet ready for life. With the aide of the OWC mount, I found myself cradling the faster brain that would breathe new life into my aging tower, sliding it in and locking it into place without a problem. Drive installed, it was time. Calling forth lighting from the sky (or the power strip, your choice) the drives (aside from the SSD) whirred, the monitors hummed... it... it was ALIVE! Everything flickered into life and, thanks to the cradle, my computer could run like a new machine once more. Fast forward several years, and we arrive at today; I've had no problems with the mount, and all is as it should be. The drive runs cool in the enclosure, and I've had nary a problem with it ever since. Thanks OWC!

This mount is the best made piece I have seen. I thought it would be plastic and its nice solid thick blue metal. PERFECTLY cut to hold an SSD 2.5 drive and slides right into a 2009 Mac Pro. If you are adding an SSD this is the mount you want. Very happy thank you!

I love my 2010 MAC PRO and refuse to let it die. For me, the new Mac Pro.s, though impressive, are completely out of the ballpark when it comes to ROI. Therefore, I continue to rely on my 2010 MAC Pro for my day-to-day computing needs (I'm running Mojave and Windows 10, each on their own drives. Windows is installed raw, w/o Bootcamp). I wanted and needed to upgrade to using SSDs so I bought a couple of OWC's 2.5 inch drive sleds. They work perfectly! They're well made and easy to install. I now have 1TB drives running both my OSs. I also like the blue color of the sleds. It makes it easy to differentiate my regular drives from my SSD drives. If you're contemplating upgrading to SSDs in your 2010-2012 Mac Pro, then this is an absolute must have! I highly recommend this product!

I had no issues installing it, came with screws, and went right into the existing port! The blue makes it look odd, but you'll never know if you never have your case open. 10/10 product, and it worked great!

I should’ve more closely read the description, because it does not state that it works with 2008 MP models, but it sticks out too far to put the side panel back on. This is my 2008 MP 3,1. It’s a well made product, and actually fits the tray slot, and fits the drive just fine, it just sits out about 1/2” too long on the end.

Fits snugly in my Mac Pro 5,1 like the original sleds. Great value for the price. Construction seems solid. Getting ready to order a second one.

This is made out of a really good material. It’s not plastic. It’s just like the original one took less than 30 seconds to install the SSD drive
