Depraved 3 [Smith, Bryan] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Depraved 3 Review: Depraved 3 by Bryan Smith......... Was it as good as Depraved1 ? - Bryan Smith has a very entertaining way of writing grest sized novels and keeping your attention with each page, anxious to turn the page and to see what will happen next. All the characters in each of the books are "Depraved", lol. The details of the depraved actions are truly kept to a minimum letting your imagination fill in any parts you feel are missing. HIs stories in these novels are full and fulfiilling, giving you enough information but not over doing it. Jessica Sloan returns however, this time she is in Prison 13, a prison reminisent of Germany in WWII. Complete with authentic pictures of concentration camp prisoners, guards dressed as SS soldiers, complete with a nurse that likens Mendele. Tortures only sadists would take pleasure in and yes, even an oven. Jessica knows that she can't remain there any longer than she absolutely has too. The prison is run by a shadow group, very few know who some of them are. You can end up there for any reason, anyone you know may have the pull to send you there whether for cheating on your spouse or plain old murder. Jessica will do anything to escape the horrors happening inside the walls of this prison. We also catch up with Helga Von Trammpe and Vivian Ice (Megan, Helga's old torture buddy, the other half of The Touture Twins). Except things from the past had dramatically changed their relationship, not for the better. Being that this story is based in an all women's prision the language and acts writiten in the story are comparative to the surroundings. Meaning the language and acts can be offensive, if that is something that yoou think would offed you do NOT read this book. Other than that, if you're curious about what happens in the ongoing adventures (lol) of Jessica Sloan then by all means read this and judge for yourself. Thank you for reading my review, I hope it helps. Review: Jessica Sloan in Prison! - Jessica Sloan returns! Only this time, she's not facing the grotesque and sadistic rednecks of Hopkins Bend. Instead, Jessica faces her toughest challenge yet...an all-women, Nazi run prison in the cold barren wastelands of the unknown. Smith takes Depraved 3 into the realm of the Women in Prison genre as a callback to the exploitative films from decades ago. Of course, in keeping with Bryan Smith and the rest of the Depraved series, this isn't going to be the typical experience in the criminal justice system. There are no rules in this prison where the staff is encouraged to rape, torture, and murder the inmates. Among the inmates, only the strong thrive through acts of incredible violence, domination, and through shear numbers. To survive, Jessica must navigate the grim complexities of this new and dangerous world where even a glance at the wrong person could result in a savage beating and then a prolonged torture session at the hands of the medical staff. Depraved 3 delivered on its promise of delivering an extreme horror experience mixed with the Women in Prison genre. However, Jessica feels like an afterthought to the narrative sometimes. She lacks agency to the major story arc happening around her, although the secondary characters fill in those blanks for the reader. Had the story centered more around Jessica, I think the narrative would have been a bit stronger. Even still, I managed to polish the book off in two days and was left wanting more. Overall, Depraved 3 is exactly as the title suggests. It's an EXTREME HORROR novel which includes detailed descriptions of torture, sodomy, sadism, sexual assault, and even one scene of consensual sex. This is a Bryan Smith novel. His name alone is a trigger warning.

Jessica Sloan in Prison!
Jessica Sloan returns! Only this time, she's not facing the grotesque and sadistic rednecks of Hopkins Bend. OK
It was ok, a little repetitive at times but overall pretty decent. Will definitely check out more from the author.

This cavity search will be...thorough!
Too many sequels are just rehashes of the original story. Bryan Smith doesn't do that with his books, and Depraved 3 is a huge left turn from the previous installments. The through line of the series is the character of Jessica Sloan, and in Depraved 3 she is taken to a secret underground prison with a Nazi motif and surrounded by human filth, both her fellow inmates and the staff. The grue and gore are pushed to the limit in this one, as well as the "romantic" encounters (come on, this is a "women in prison" story after all!). There is resolution to a storyline from the original Depraved and a surprise return from the House of Blood books. Bryan Smith fans will love this one, but new readers should be able to jump right in as well and join in the illicit fun. 5 stars!

Good read
The look on her face was sincerity itself, but something about the expression felt a little too studied. A little too…precise. The look on her face was a mask. She was hiding something, but this in itself wasn’t sinister. It might only be that she already had a strong inkling regarding what her boss was about to say.

Oh.... thank you, thank you, thank you
Now that, my friends, is what I call a kickass sequel. Mr. Smith took the Depraved series into a totally new direction and I loved it. It was a turn-the-page-as-fast-as-possible-to-find-out-what-will-happen-next kind of book. So much fun! The only part I had a problem with was the ending. It just felt like too quick of an implausible ending. I mean, c'mon now, the nurse, Livia, makes it to the escape and gets a bullet to the head. This monster of a woman deserves more of a torture of a lifetime. Jessica, on the other hand, ends up in a hole. Oh well... I can still hope for a unique sequel!!!

Wow! This was just brutal! Although the backwoods redneck stories are one of my favourites, this far outweighed the first two books in this series, in my opinion. Possibly because apart from the ending (which I won't spoil) it didn't have the weird, supernatural element to it. I'm not a particular fan of supernatural type stuff as I find the horror of what one human is capable if doing to another far more horrific than ghosties and demons etc...I loved that Jessica was back for this installment along with Helga and Megan but in a completely different setting and it was certainly interesting to read a book of this type that was primarily women with very few men in at all. I'm not sure about the ending but as there is a 4th book now I will reserve judgement for the time being. I would have said I really didn't like the end had it been the end of the series. One star lost again for the sloppy proof reading. Sorry, but really is a major bugbear to me.

I can see what he was going for but I was glad when (the rather sudden) ending happened. Nothing new here, standard stereotypical character set, been there read worse/more ‘brutal’ brutality. The nightclub scene was pretty damn good with some striking visuals.
