Great
Easy installation, very functional and versatile. I connected my aftermarket CarPlay to one USB and fast charger to the other port. Looks OEM, and seems to be very well built. Definitely worth the money for what it provides.

Great for providing through-panel connections for stereo head unit installation!
Purchased to replace cigar lighter in 2012 Ford Expedition when installing new head unit. Head unit has two USB connections and I didn't want extension cables running loose through dashboard cracks. This brings the USB ports to the front while eliminating a nearly useless cigar lighter. Provides for a super clean installation and connection/charging point that looks like it belongs! Data transfer seems to have no problems. Charges at full speed of the head unit's capabilities. Installs nice and clean. Wires are long enough to give lots of location options while still reaching the head unit's USB connections. Highly recommend for this application! ***UPDATE APRIL 2025*** This was originally purchased and installed in August 2020. In April 2025, nearly FIVE YEARS after installation, I started receiving 'USB OVERCURRENT DETECTED' alerts on my head unit. I believe this component has failed - AFTER NEARLY FIVE YEARS of DAILY use!! That is NOT a complaint!! It's a testament to the quality of this item!! I will be purchasing a replacement since this one lasted so long and has worked so well for it's entire time installed! One thing I have learned - I recently switched from Android to Apple and with my head unit (Kenwood Excelon DNX696S) only one port is compatible with Apple's CarPlay while Android Auto is usable on both. I am certain this is a head-unit thing and NOT this item, but thought it was noteworthy.

Great for new Kenwood
I wanted my wife's cars new Kenwood to look as OEM as possible. So I wanted the input cables to be connected to a jack rather than just extending the cables into the cabin. I installed this on place off the cigarette lighter in the dash ... it fit perfectly and looks fabulous -- every bit as "factory" as the original lighter looked. Only better, since we used it for a charging port anyway. The quality seems to be excellent - better than I've seen. Nice thick cables a great length for the connection to the radio. Being a dual port design I was able to connect both rear USB connections and get them accessible. I didn't use the cover (the area was a little too small to get that part in) but of you have room the cover is a neat design - again, looks very OEM. I am very happy with this purchase, and I may buy another ... if I put a new Kenwood in my truck!

Snug plug
The USB wire plugged in snugly and worked very well. There was no wiggling or falling out when I plugged in my phone and I was using it to contact my new wireless car stereo and the pairing and communication went without a hitch. The plug mounted easily and seemingly securely with the small screws it came with and the wires seemed tough but pliable. I took away a star because I couldn't get the threaded ring on tightly enough by hand to stop the plug rotating in the mount. I am pretty sure I can remedy this with some tools though. I am pleased with the fit, function and quality of this USB extension plug and would recommend it to others if you are looking to add a plug or replace an existing plug.

Fixed Android Auto in my 2016 Jeep Wrangler
I have a 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Freedom Edition and I have tried 3 different Android Auto head units, each time reusing the console USB port in the Jeep by removing the Uconnect system. The Sony XAV-AX100 worked perfectly fine. The Sony XAV-AX5000 hardly worked at all. My current Alpine iLX-W650 was probably working well over 50% but still pretty problematic. I did a lot of troubleshooting, I made YouTube videos about it and posted on Jeep forums. I eventually decided the wiring for the console USB in the Jeep is just not compatible with Android Auto. I tried a few different options but wound up replacing the cigarette lighter port on the dash with a flush mount dual USB port. I have not had any Android Auto issues since the USB port install. I made a video of it on YouTube, but the video was too large to post here. I have included a picture of the thumbnail. You can search for "5after12" and you should be able to find it. I first tried just running a long USB extension cord from the back of the head unit to the area between the seat and the console, but it also had some issues. I assumed that was problematic due to the length. The benefits of this current setup is the relatively short wire run. The ICESPRING dual port USB has worked like a champ. I have one port connected directly to the head unit, and the other I plugged into a Samsung fast USB charger, and it works great. So the top port I can use for Car Play or Android Auto, and the bottom port I can use for fast charging. Since I switched to the USB cigarette lighter port I have had zero disconnects with Android Auto.

Great product. Read this if installing in wood.
I wanted to add a couple of charging ports to a desk extension I built in my home office. My desk apron is made of 1 x 4 lumber, so 0.75" thick and 3.5" tall. All the other USB grommets for furniture appeared to require at least a 2" hole, but I didn't want a hole that big in my 3.5" apron since it would leave little for structural support. I found this and figured I'd give it a try. Tried it out on some scrap in the garage before drilling into my new desk. My calipers told me that the diameter of the grommet just behind the exposed face is 1-1/8" (but there's not a lot of material there before the diameter drops again down to the threaded body, as you see in the product pictures). The threaded part is just over 1". The threaded portion would not fit through a 1" hole made with a spade bit, just so you know. I thought I might drill a shallow 1-1/8" pocket for the face and then 1" the rest of the way through to make for a tighter fit, but it turns out that won't work, nor is it needed. I ended up drilling all the way through with a 1-1/8" spade bit and pressed the grommet into the apron for a perfectly snug fit. There's just enough threads coming out the back for one of the included nuts to grab maybe 2 or 3 threads. For now it's just hand tightened and it's not going anywhere. No slop, no rocking, no rotating. See the included pics for the final result. It's exactly what I needed.

Perfect solution for adding USB connectivity
I installed a new Pioneed head unit with a rear USB port into an Audi A4, and I didn't want to have a USB cable dangling from the side of the center console. I wanted to bring USB access closer to the cabin and keep it clean. This product was exactly the solution I was looking for. The cigarette lighter in the Audi is near the arm rest in the center console, and its housing is very easy to unclip and remove. Once I popped off the housing, I removed the cigarette lighter from the housing, popped in a USB adapter, plugged one end of this product into the adapter, taped it all together, and shoved it inside of the console. I ran the other USB cable to the radio. Once everything was wired up, this thing screwed into the housing like it was meant to be there. It was a PERFECT fit. The result is seamless. I had no compatability issues whatsoever, and I was able to use my phone, an SD card, and a flash drive to connect to the Pioneer with this outlet.

A Convenient Add-On For Aftermarket Stereos
I purchased this with the intent of replacing the cigarette lighter port for a cleaner appearance and an easy connection to my aftermarket car stereo. Install was rather straight forward and it is serving it's role perfectly. If you feel that the USB port is not working, check your USB cable as there are specific types that will work with your iOS or Andriod phone. For example, I had to purchase a genuine Apple lighting cable in order for the interface to work correctly with the cables connecting to my stereo. It's a bit of an inconvenience but it is best to know rather than test it out, find out the interface does not work and get potentially led down the wrong path thinking that the cable or the stereo unit is defective.
