Review: REVISED REVIEW: Worked like a dream for the first week. Then I had a terminal PSU failure. - Edit: Customer service is excellent. Special thanks to Hong from Sainsmart. My PSU failed in the first week of printing but Sainsmart sent me a new one and I’ve been carving up aluminum ever since. It’s handy, sturdy and it works exactly how I would expect it to. Coming from a 3D printing background, I expected to have more tedious issues to iron out but it is a fantastic little machine. Recommendations: 3D modeling and CAM (the tool passes): Fusion 360 G code sender: UGS works really well for me Endmill for cutting aluminum: 1/8 in 3 flute carbide endmill. (Speed tiger here on desertcart hasn’t failed me once. Literally. No snapped endmills ever) Old review: I think it’s a solid little machine and I love it very much. But on my most recent CNC job, as the spindle began to spin at the very start, I hear a pop from my PSU and some smoke came out. I’ve reached out to Sainsmart for support both here and on their website. I hope to get a replacement part and fix the machine because it is lovely to use when it works. I will update this reply when customer service reaches back with me.
Review: Impressed by the build quality - Updated - it will cut aluminum - This is my first CNC router and I chose this over other models because it appeared to be more rigid than the average low cost CNC. I was quite impressed with the overall build quality, fit, and finish. The packaging was very good as well. I checked each and every bolt and all were properly tightened at the factory. Assembly was quick and easy - much easier than my 3D printer. It needed calibration on the steps/mm but that was expected. I have a lot to learn but had my first carve project up and running in no time. I have not tried cutting aluminum yet but my guess is that it will do fine as long as I use the right bit and take it slow. Update - I can attest that if you get your feeds and speeds right you can mill aluminum quite nicely with this machine. I tested it using 60 degree v bit which worked fine and then I made a little test design in Fusion 360 to cut a curved slot, some counterbored holes, and the edges of the part using a 1/8" single fluted flat end mill. The image shows the result in 10mm thick aluminum. This took about an hour 15 minutes to finish in the mill.

A: yes, be sure to calculate speeds and feeds

**Q: Can it engrave medallion/ medals? Are they consider soft aluminum ( Zinc  Iron)?**
A: Yes, it can engrave medals, but need to make sure the surface is flat. Support soft aluminum and Zinc-Iron.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ the speed of decay starts quickly, and machine and circuitry go fast to junk !

at first the machine was running as expected, but soon started being loud, vibrations and loose screws. I than noticed the Z Axis bearing was loose and Sain Smart sent a replacement Z Axis, the new Z Axis set screws were poorly installed and after about 15 minutes the new replacement Z Axis the bearings completely fell out of place and set screws were loose and I broke a cutter, the service people take so long to respond it is as if they don't care, or are over head with complaints, my newest issue is the switch for shutting off power stopped working I have to pull the plug every time I shut down, today 9-12-23 I wish to add customer service is and has been reaching out to help replace poorly assembled and badly damaged parts customer service is good and helpful changing rating to four stars
