The image says there are two ground and no power. Which is the real ground and which should I use for 5v/vin? I'm assuming the other pins are correct.

This version is just the switch - with no attached logic. So its only job is to connect the various signals to ground (or not). Of course, since it is just a switch there's nothing stopping you from using vcc instead, but ground would be normal for something like an Arduino, which provides pull-up resistors.

Is this a linear or logarithmic potentiometer?

These are not potentiometers. They are rotary encoders. If you need potentiometers, search Amazon for "potentiometers".

works but is backwards compared to stock rotary knob. Not a huge deal to spin it the opposite direction, though I spin it the wrong way the first time about 99% of the time. Could take it apart and re-wire the 2 pins but it doesnt bother me enough to actually fix it. Only needed 1 so I sold the other 4 on eBay.

Aren't working as they should, they register the wrong direction at least half of the time. exemple as i turn left it goes left-right-right-left-right. tested 2 of the five, canno't return them cause i needed to solder wires to it, stay away!
