I don't know how hard your wood is, so that's an issue. I used the tool for plastic modeling, the plastic is thick and very strong. The tool was great. The blade shafts are strong. My guess is that if you use them on hard wood like red oak, the smallest blade might dull out. I think the tool is worth having as a part of your tool kit. **Q: How well would this scriber work with copper-clad pcb? the copper is quite thin but i'd rather not ruin the chisels.** A: NOT SURE WHAT A "PCB" IS BUT IF THE CLADDING IS COPPER THE STEEL SCRIBERS WILL NOT BE HARMED. **Q: Is this tool suitable for scribing lines in styrene?** A: It depends. I love the tool and highly recommend it. However, the thinnest blade is not quite a V-shaped razor edged tip, it's more like a rectangular cutting surface. The thinnest is quite thin, and I used it to make a tiny panel line a little wider. That's the one big difference between this tool and a standard scriber with a razor edged tip. That said, the other scriber I have has a great razor sharp blade, but that makes it harder to guide for a straight line.
