A Bleach Alternative That Actually Works Better!
Forget bleach — sodium percarbonate is my new go-to! It’s a more environmentally friendly alternative to harsh chemical cleaners because it breaks down into harmless substances like water and oxygen, so I feel better about using it in my home. Unlike bleach, it doesn’t leave that strong, chemical smell and it’s gentler on fabrics. I use it for white clothes, sheets, and towels, and I’m amazed at how bright they stay — no dull gray look over time. I’ve been trying to remove as many chemicals from my home as possible, and this product has been such a happy find. It’s effective, safe, and keeps my laundry looking fresh and clean. Pros: • Brightens whites without the harshness of bleach • Environmentally friendly — breaks down into water and oxygen • No strong chemical smell • Safe for most fabrics • Great for clothes, sheets, and towels Cons: • Needs hot water to fully activate for best results If you want bright whites and a safer, eco-friendly laundry routine, sodium percarbonate is a must-have. It works just as well — if not better — than bleach, without the harsh side effects.

unscented and works like a charm
The best part about this item is it's unscented and it gets things white! It doesn't bubble like the grocery store version. As far as the lid goes, a few quick cuts with a razor blade does the trick. This product removed dirty grease from a cotton shirt that went through the dryer with little to no elbow grease. I will not go back to the other stuff.

Best Laundry Booster EVER
I've tried a LOT of laundry products in my day. I worked around blood and body fluids for a long time. These are tough stains to remove, especially if it is old and super dried on. This product is better than concentrated Zout (which I love and still use). In-combination, not a drop of months-old, highly saturated blood stains survive. I use a half cup of this product with pre-treatment with Zout and put it all in HOT water and it works. Warm or cold too, but cold seems to lag a bit. My sheets come out bright and fresh. Work clothes with ground in red-clay mud come out perfect. Perspiration stains disappear. I haven't tried the product on baby clothes but I would bet it works fabulously. It runs circles around a famous oxygen bleach, available at the supermarket. One problem: It doesn't come with directions. You need to look them up online.

Used on a wood deck, very pleased with results!
This is basically the same kind of cleaner as OxyClean, but more affordable. We used this to clean our deck prior to pressure washing and eventually applying stain. I mixed half a cup of cleaning powder per gallon of hot water (needs to be hot in order to dissolve the cleaner), added a teaspoon of dish soap to help it adhere to the boards and applied using a pump sprayer. Next I used a stiff deck brush to scrub the cleaner into the boards before letting it sit for about 15 minutes. After that, I pressure washed the area to strip the wood in preparation for staining. The difference was like night and day, it made the boards look new again ahead of staining. We didn’t take any pictures, but there are several videos on YouTube showing the results of this method. The wood faded a bit upon drying, and I read that this fading can be prevented in order to keep the “freshly pressure washed wood” look, but you must apply a harsh acid to the boards immediately after pressure washing. IMO, this extra step is not worth the additional risk to yourself or the environment posed by using this harsh acid. Overall, this cleaner provides an excellent value for the money, especially when compared to the deck cleaning solutions for sale at the big box stores or buying name brand Oxy Clean. The great things about using this cleaner prior to pressure washing: 1) this cleaner kills mold, algae, and mildew and will help prevent its regrowth 2) this cleaner lightens the wood as it cleans 3) it’s very powerful and requires minimal brushing to effectively clean the boards 4) it is safe for the environment, the only fumes are oxygen 5) even without a pressure washer, it provides excellent results

Great Product For Laundry Use
This is Sodium Percarbonate - The active ingredient in Oxi-Clean (except that Oxi-Clean dilutes it with about 1/2 plain sodium carbonate as a mostly inert filler). I use one very small scoop in my laundry (all colors, it doesn't damage the colors). I do this to eliminate scents - I have allergies and my wife's cosmetic products frequently bother my sinuses. It leaves no scent at all that I can detect. And along with the detergent does a good job on ordinary dirt and grime and most scents. Not having the added, mostly inert sodium carbonate, you use less per load so have less chance of white flakes left over in your laundry. The plastic bucket the product comes in is very sturdy and between that and the inner plastic bag does a great job of protecting the product from moisture which would cause clumping. But the bucket is a genuine pain to open (you cut each perforation then pry up the tabs while working the bucket open). Thats OK for the initial opening, but you have to push the lid on tight to protect the contents from moisture and go through everything but cutting the perforations EVERY TIME YOU OPEN IT. That is unacceptable, so plan on transferring the contents to a container that opens easier and reseals easier. If it wasn't for that bucket and lid I'd give 5 stars.

This. Stuff. Rocks.
I live in a part of the Pacific Northwest that is damp and cool almost year-round. The highest temp ever recorded (EVER) is 89 degrees, and that's considered a true heat anomaly. As a result, we get a lot of moss growth on, well...just about everything! :) The hardest thing, though is when it starts spreading on roof shingles. Ugh. That stuff is so freaking tough to eliminate! We don't want to use heavy-duty chemicals (not good for us, for our yard, for birds and bugs, etc., and our best friend--an old guy who's had his own roofing company for a LONG TIME--explained that power washing composite roofing is a huge no-no. I first heard of sodium percarbonate when I saw someone using it to clean a slow bathroom drain. When I looked it up, I discovered it was the active ingredient in Oxyclean, and it could be used very successfully on moss--roofs, sidewalks, decks--as well as on laundry. I ordered the big bucket, because we had an extremely wet winter in 2021-2022 and there were some places on our roof that looked terrible. There was also a spot on an outside walkway that gets zero sun in the wintertime, and had literally turned green and slippery. When I got the sodium percarbonate, I tried it on the walkway first. It did an amazing job! I dampened the area a bit, sprinkled the powder on in a thin, even coat, and let it go to work. It immediately started bubbling away, just like liquid hydrogen peroxide. I came back after it stopped fizzing and scrubbed the area with a push broom. Not only did the moss come up, but after I rinsed the area the sidewalk was sparkling clean! Then came the roof situation. Again, we lightly dampened the surfaces and sprinkled the powder on the mossy spots. We were able to use a regular (low-pressure) garden hose to rinse the roof. Most of the clumps of moss tumbled right off, and in a few spots that were hard to reach with the hose, we just left the powder, as the upcoming forecast was for more rain. Sure enough, the rain washed the roof clean, and it really looks good as new. According to what I've read, once it's gone through the active phase this product becomes fairly inert and is not toxic or harmful to plants or other critters. The chemistry is supposed to not only kill the moss AND the little rootlets that are so tough to eliminate, but it supposedly kills the spores that cause the moss to forever grow back. I won't know if that's true until next spring, but so far I'm extremely happy with this product.

Widely useful cleaning product
Sodium percarbonate is the chief cleanser in the popular product called Oxi_lean. Unlike Oxi_lean, this product is NOT diluted with baking soda or surfactants and inert ingredients. Because it is pure sodium percarb, it is also a stronger cleaner. A scant TEAspoon in the detergent cup of your dishwasher plus the usual tablet will have your dishes and silverware sparkle. So many other uses too. Price is reasonable considering its power, and wide utility around the home and garage.
