A great board for an Ender 3, a great board for any other printer.
I initially bought this board for an Anet A6. This is a board that isn't designed as a drop in replacement for anything besides a Creality printer, but I wanted to make it work. It didn't take long to get set up. Everything went together easily- connectors were clearly labeled and have a reasonable amount of documentation with it. Only thing I had to adjust were thermistor and endstop connectors, which involve cutting down from a 3-prong connector to a 2-prong. About 10 minutes later, they were all adjusted. From there, I just had to swap wires around for the fans to get the polarity correct. Once I was in Klipper config, config was straight forward. Klipper and Marlin both have example config files you can copy over to your main config file, where you can adjust them to fit your printer best afterwards. I had a failure shortly after getting the first board, and had another one sent out. It worked so well that I bought another one as soon as I bought a second printer, a CR-10 Mini. That was plug and play, as the SKR E3 V3 was designed for Creality printers. I didn't even try the printer with the OEM board. Shortly after, I bought another one for an Ender 3 V2 I had just bought. Same deal, great performance, plug and play, yada yada. TMC2209 drivers are extremely high quality for consumer line printers. You can't hear the stepper motors. 32-bit controllers work great when running Marlin, or any other firmware that piles calculation burden on the board. Even on Klipper, where calculations are run on an external device, you can still enjoy great board support and quiet driver operation. Next printer I buy, I'll buy another SKR board. They really are great. Paired with a BTT TFT35, you get an external touchscreen GUI (after some troubleshooting and configuration). That's a lot of fun to play with. Not compatible with Klipper, everybody. If you're looking for an aftermarket board, most BTT boards will suit you well. Nothing, however, can beat the support and community around the SKR E3 V3.

A Game Changer for 3D Printing: BIGTREETECH SKR Mini E3 V3.0 Review
The BIGTREETECH SKR Mini E3 V3.0 control board has completely transformed my Ender 3 Printer, earning a well-deserved 5-star rating. This upgrade has made my 3D printer nearly silent, vastly improving the printing experience. Installation was a breeze, which is a huge plus for someone who appreciates straightforward upgrades. The board fit perfectly, and the instructions provided were clear and easy to follow. I was up and running in no time, and the difference in noise level was immediately noticeable. The use of STMicroelectronics' latest G0 series main control chip ensures efficient and powerful performance. This, combined with the TMC2209 UART stepper driver, contributes significantly to the reduction of noise, making long print jobs far less intrusive than before. The addition of three CNC fans for increased heat dissipation is a thoughtful feature. It keeps the printer temperature down during long operations, ensuring consistent performance and longevity of the board. The redesigned drive heat sink further enhances this by improving heat dissipation capacity, which is crucial for maintaining optimal performance. The upgrade from Mini USB to Micro USB B for the PC communication interface is a welcome change. It's more adaptable and fits better with the cables I already have, making it easier to connect the printer to my computer. The option to supply power directly to peripherals via the SPI output port is another highlight. It offers flexibility in powering external SPI sensors, providing both +3.3V and +5V options. This feature simplifies the setup for additional components, making this board not just a silent upgrade but also a versatile one. In conclusion, the BIGTREETECH SKR Mini E3 V3.0 is a fantastic upgrade for the Ender 3 series printers. It not only significantly reduces noise but also improves performance and usability. The easy installation process and the thoughtful design improvements make this control board a must-have for any Ender 3, Ender 3 Pro, or Ender-3 V2 owner looking to enhance their 3D printing experience.

Enables using Klipper on Ender 3 Pro
A bit tricky to set up (crimping wires, reading schematic, editing config, etc.). But this enabled me to use Klipper, which makes the Ender 3 feel like a brand new printer. Fan control is great.

Great contoller but confusing documentation
This board is a winner. I originally purchased this to replace the board in my makerbot/flashforge clone but it turned into a project of nightmare to rewire and make work, not because of the board but because of the terrible design of the printer. I ended up getting a used End 3 pro and swapped the controller out for this little beast, plugged everything up and flashed Marlin and she has been running great since. The installation into the Ender was easy as it can be basically just plug and go. The controller is fast and although there is some electronic noise when using this it barely noticeable way quieter than the printer itself. The board is fully functional for any of the bed slinger printers but you probably want to get a bigger board if you have a more advanced setup or are wanting to add more than 4 stepper motors to you machine. The size is relatively compact and the integrated heatsink is a nice touch both functionally and how it looks. Would recommend I also own the V2.0 of the board so I would recommend this line of product.

Good board, but...
The board works, is quiet, and all that good stuff, but... First, in order to work with a BLTouch leveller, a patch has to be installed (search "bigtreetech firmware"--it's on github). There are no instructions on that page, nothing to tell you that the bltouch and bltouch-for-z-homing files are complete replacements for the factory firmware and not just cumulative patches. I installed them in the wrong order so Z homing didn't work. Installing the homing patch all by itself made things play. Second, initially, I opened a ticket with BigTreeTech about the Z-axis failure. Their response said nothing about the replacement vs patch issue and after one response they seem to have abandoned the ticket. I discovered the fix just by noting that all three firmware files are about the same size and concluded that mere patches shouldn't be as big as the whole thing. Third, the board won't work with a 32Gb SD RAM. My first set of firmware installations were done with an old 8Gb RAM. Just randomly, the second time I used an 32Gb RAM and got nothing but "SD fail" messages from the board. (Found that from a Brave browser search...) Fourth, one of the fan connectors in the original Ender control board are screw-down like the heater connectors. On the BigTree board they're standard 2-pin JST connectors. You have to add the JST connector yourself, which is a bit of a pain. (It's not clear in any documentation if all three fan connectors are always-on, which you might need for the board-cooling fan, or controlled, which you might need for the extruder fans.)

Nice Replacement for the CR10. Just be careful for the USB connector.
5 stars with one issue. The usb connector broke off as soon as I plug in a cable in. It was not soldered down properly. I got a replacement unit and added solder to anchor it down. I replaced my Creality CR-10 V2 mainboard using Klipper. This unit is working perfectly. The install was relatively straightforward.

Would never buy a BIGTREETECH product again. Caveat emptor!
If you thought that Creality products can be hard to install you haven't seen anything yet! What could have been a simple plug-play board swap was made a nightmare in a fashion which seems intentional. One of the worse things about this product and company is trying to get tech support. After you verify your email address you have to fill out a large extensive form only to be greeted with a first: their support staff only reads Chinese! They actually say to write your request, translate it to Chinese, then translate it back to English to see what it says before submitting the support request! Forget about getting a even the most simple answer to anything unless you read and write Chinese, or happen to have a Chinese-to-English and English to Chinese translator - and are willing to jump through hoops. BIGTREETECH should not be selling products in a country they are unable to communicate with. We found a bag full of problems they could have easily avoided with valid documentation; which (of course) is NOT included with the board. Almost too many problems to count, starting with no USB cable included as description says. The board comes with a little yellow duck squeaky - but zero documentation and no USB cable. Google found the user manual, which is very badly written, and in some places shows a connector layout which does not match the board. Easy example: the board has three FAN# sockets - but doesn't bother to tell you which one each device uses; like the fan for the hothead, fan for the system board, etc. And where the Ender 3 Pro has screw-down terminals for the system fan, this board has a socket instead but no connector to use it. So you have to create a custom cable of your own?!?! Then trying to hook up their BL-Touch leveler is another dice roll - in one place they say you have to add a jumper to the board and use two different sockets - one 2 wire and one 3 wire - but two pages later says to use an entirely different single 5-pin socket. And the leveler cannot stay attached unless you glue it in place because either the device pins or the socket pins are unable to hold the connector. Then you find that the SD card slot is completely non-functional; which might be why they claimed there was a (nonexistent) USB cable included? Then you have to try and find firmware for the board; which would not load at all. After a few hours of fruitless work and never even getting the device to boot we gave up and had no recourse but to return the product to Amazon. We are used to poor or little documentation for Chinese products but it is absurd to expect a customer to do a translation dance or read and write Chinese in order to get even the most basic technical support; which of course is required since they do not include any documentation. Not a chance we would ever buy another BIGTREETECH product unless we really wanted to be exploited and end up with a completely non-functional device. DON'T DO IT!!!

Works good but needs a lot of fine tuning for your particular 3D printer.
This Bigtreetech SKR mini E3 V.3 works really well. I replaced my stock Creality CR10 board with this Bigtreetech. It is easy to install and wire up, but the firmware gets tricky. It is set up with Marlin firmware for a Creality Ender 3 printer. The build dimensions are not the same as the Creality CR10. I basically spent a few days programming and tuning the firmware for my setup. Luckily there are CR10 files available. I have a BLtouch, a Microswiss direct drive extruder, and a few other custom features. I got it running well and I have to say that the stepper motors are so much smoother and quieter. It is a worthwhile upgrade as long as you are familiar with firmware upgrades. I used Virtual Studio Code to modify Marlin. I am sure there are other ways, but this was what I ended up using. If you are not familiar with Marlin then this upgrade is not for the faint of heart. But if you are somewhat familiar with programming languages, then go for it. There are a lot of helpful videos on the Internet.

decided to stop working
I used this board for my ender 3 pro .. I flashed marin on it and it used to work fine printing whatever i wanted until i turned it on one day and it wasnt working .. I confirmed that it was the motherboard because I replaced it with the original board and it worked.

No warranty - DO NOT BUY!!!!
I purchased this board for my Ender 3 Pro. From day 1, it was problematic, with random hardware crashes and failure of my CRTouch unit. At first I thought that it was my lack of experience causing the problems, however, after going through multiple threads and forums, I came to believe that the problem was the board. 2 days ago, I suddenly lost USB connection to my Raspberry Pi. The board still functioned, just no connection to OctoPi. I contacted BigTreeTech's support at [email protected] and I was pleasantly surprised by how fast they responded. They offered different suggestions on how try to get the board working again. However, after I purchased a new USB cable and confirmed that the problem was the USB port on the board, BigTree's tech support stopped responding to my emails and I have heard nothing from them since. BigTreeTech is a multi-million dollar corporation. The fact that they won't give warranty service on a $60 CAD/ $45 USD item is a clear warning to all prospective buyers that BigTreeTech does not stand by their products. Get a Creality 4.2.7 board. Yes, it lacks the features of the SKR, however, based on my research, Creality has a warranty that they honor. Or, if you ned the extra features, spend the extra and get a MKS Robin or a Duet2 board. In the future, I will avoid BigTree's products. This is disappointing because I was just about to purchase a SKR Pico for my other printer. But throwing away another $55 for a product that has no warranty isn't going to happen. DO NOT BUY THIS BOARD!!!!
