    Beware of Questyle

The QP1R looks good and sounds good for a portable DAP, so what's not to like?Well, for starters the user interface is horrific and the display archaic. To make matters worse, the scroll wheel is all but unusable. It is so slippery that most of the time it is impossible even to spin it with the fingers. One would think that Questyle addressed this issue early on, right? Wrong, all they did was ship a sticker that goes on top of the wheel to some of the buyers, through their authorized retailers. Most buyers did not get those stickers and had to be inventive to make the wheel work, like sticking a plastic bumper. Now, remember we are talking about a$1,000 Plus piece of equipment here... Also, the scroll wheel is surrounded by capacitative buttons under the glass face, so a finger slipping off the wheel will have unintended consequences.Another major issue is the firmware: it was always very buggy, but new updates are few and far between. And now that Questyle released the QP2 (with a completely redesigned wheel, by the way), chances are that they will drop all the scarce support there was for the QP1.To sum it up, the QP1R is so flawed that it should have been recalled by the Chinese manufacturer, if they had any kind of integrity. Instead, they are just moving on with a new model and letting the early adopters hanging.I bought mine from Headphone Audiophile and I have received zero support or help from them, and my QP1 has been sitting pretty in a drawer basically unused for almost two years,
