Works so much easier than green bannas
Although this product doesn't list it it is excellent for medicinal use for people who have had their colons removed. Green bananas help slow everything . So we use it on oatmeal every morning for my husband and it helps him absorb his medications that he has to have for his heart as well as give him plenty of time to function and do things without always having to run to the bathroom. It has a great taste when mixed in with the oatmeal. Although we have put it in an instant breakfast drink too and it's helped. So for those of you that may have physical issues that are looking for something to slow the gut down this is a great product and it's organic and we've been using it for 3 years.

Good quality, resistant starch. Good for the gut. Dissolves well.
Mixes well. Mild flavor. Adds a light sweetness. I will purchase again.

Easy to incorporate into diet
I'm currently doing a low fodmap diet, which includes very small amounts of resistant starches. Resistant starches are converted to small chain fatty acids (SCFA) in our large intestine and they are essential to gut health. After learning about SCFA I ordered both banana flour and butyrate in capsule form. I was worried that the banana flour was going to upset my SIBO but after a week of using 1 Tbsp in my daily smoothie I have not had a bad reaction (no bloating, pain, or burps). I have taken the butyrate capsules only twice so far and have not reacted badly to them either. I've also used the banana flour in a batch of muffins (ratio of one part banana flour to 3 parts gluten free flours) and the muffins turned out delicious. More detail: I have yet to be able to find a reliable source for recommended daily intake, recommended duration for supplementing, or how to know exactly how many grams of resistant starches you're ingesting in the banana flour. Based off the info I did find, and my super awesome calculations, I believe that 1 Tbsp of banana flour contains 3g (3000mg) of resistant starches.

Great taste and easy to use, great recipes on the package
I have made a couple of recipes now with this Let's Do Organic Coconut Flour. I have gluten intolerance and had just about given up on baking, which I really enjoy. My boyfriend had a big birthday coming up, and I wanted to make him a cake. I realized I had no flour in the house, except my gluten free all purpose flour that I've been using here and there in recipes and the coconut flour. I made a carrot cake with pineapple, raisins, applesauce, and the mixture of coconut flour and the all purpose gluten free flour. I added Xanthan gum for texture and increased the leavening (baking soda/salt) and added an extra egg. The flavor and texture were great. I just made the chocolate chip cookie recipe from the back of the bag, just added xanthan gum for consistency. The cookies turned out great and had a nice coconut scent to them and a good texture. I was very pleased and have this item in my subscribe and save lineup. Thanks very much to Amazon for making it easier for us to eat food we enjoy in a way that will make us feel good.

3rd. order - been using for a year... now has a finer grain
When I first started using this product yes, the grain was coarser but around 6 months ago, they improved that. The price initially enticed me to this product (currently about 80 cents cheaper/lb. than BRM) , but the *no sulfites* keep me coming back. Two major factors that attracted me to coconut flour were high fiber and low oxalate. I believe it's also lower in sugar on the GI/GL tables. It's also nice that there are 6 bags per carton - don't have to order it that often (vs. 4 bag cartons). There was a learning curve when I first switched (hint: bump your leavening up) in spite of buying Fife's coconut cookbook; don't waste your money unless you have no concerns over cholesterol and eating exorbitant amounts of eggs. I substitute flax "goop" from ground flax seed (and water) and knock the egg requirements down by at least 1/2 or 2/3! Initially, I used only coconut flour for all my baking and pancakes; I even put a Tlb. in my rice farina. Recently though, I have branched out to adding rice and/or tapioca flours to make my own gluten-free flour blend. Tip: Go to an Asian supermarket for the rice flour (non-glutenous type has less starch) and tapioca flour if you're on a budget. Also, sift your flours 3x before using/baking. Yes, it's more work and more money than wheat flour, but my quality of life has improved drastically and that's worth it!!!

Gas gas gas
Yes I really wanted to enjoy this product however even after 1 tablespoon of this in my smoothie such horrific gas pains and gas I had to make sure I was by myself for the next 24 hours how ridiculous! Now I know why this happened. I looked up green banana f l o u r and learned that it is full of inulin which is indeed a resistant carbohydrate and is truly not digested and I avoid inulin like the plague! I had no idea. 48 hours later I am comfortable again and I can be around other people. There was no diarrhea however to blow up like the Hindenburg and to make so much noise I could have easily embarrassed myself in public situations not to mention private situations. Sure I believe that this banana product has magical powers don't we all? At what cost though? If you need some soluble fiber that acts as a Prebiotic go grab yourself some Acacia or Metamucil but not this stuff it's lethally gassy. Kind of reminded me of a lestra you know that first fake artificial fat that everybody had such crazy diarrhea on? Sure you believe the hype at first but then you try it for yourself. This was only my experience and you'll have your own but this was my experience. I'm not disappointed my doctor says I'm a healthy person enough with the super foods. The more I read the more I read that there are no superfoods every food has its benefits and some foods have side effects like well this one. Not to mention the smell and taste were more than earthy and rather unpleasant. Nobody paid me to write this review of course I am a real person and yes gas prices are rising a lot in Michigan but I don't need my gas price to rise if you know what I mean. Decide for yourself but before you put a half of cookie sheet worth of these brownies into your body think twice no think three times.

BB date already passed
Good product but when it was delivered, the BB date was already passed. I guess it's still fine to consume it but it's probably lost some of its freshness, quality and nutritional value, which is unfortunate. I'm not going to use 400g of green banana flour within 1 month!
