This case is as good as ever. If you are familiar with the waffle cone Speck cases of old, this replicates that design, only for an iPad Mini.Finally. A perfect, "snug" and protective rubberized fit. I use this product in combination with the: V7 Ultra Protective Sleeve for iPad mini and 8-Inch Tablets (TDM23BLK-GY-2N) This set up is highly affordable, but most importantly it allows me to protect my iPad mini 2, at home and on the go, WITHOUT a traditional iPad front cover.Front covers on iPad cases are designed, almost invariably, in a way that inhibits/obscures the use of the main camera. What? This happens whenever iPad covers are wrapped around the back (like every time you are using an iPad with a cover). You have to, essentially, awkwardly, hold the front cover out of the way while composing images. It creates a potential iPad "drop" situation whenever attempting to take a photo. All the holes for speakers, charging port, headphone jack, camera, and lock switch are in the proper location and not obstructing access, camera view or sound. When you first put the case on, it fits snugly but it has is a oily feeling. However, after working with the case I feel just fine using it It's very lightweight in my hand and I can turn my iPad very easily; but most of all. The rubberized grip keeps it in my hand and I don't worry about dropping it. I believe the manufacturer made this to fit snugly around the iPad mini.
