Blue Sea Systems 7187 285 Series Thermal Circuit Breakers, Surface Mount, 48V DC, 100A

Excellent and unlike the bargain look a-likes, works ‘reliably’ every time!

I've had this installed in my converted sprinter van to use for sending power back to my house batteries, and haven't had any issues. Unit seems really solid and well built, the breaker shuts off when I trip it, and it was easy to install.

I love all the bluesea stuff I've used, and this is no exception. I use this stuff in cars, not boats, but it seems just as at home here. In this particular application, I was setting up my camping van for a trip to Alaska during the spring time, and with projected temperatures in the single digits (farenheit). The van wasn't totally finished, but I added two extra marine batteries (in addition to the two stock van batteries), and added a blue sea fuse block in the passenger area, and wired up so I'd have electrical heat. This circuit breaker is in a temporary location, strapped to the front bumper of the van, and protecting a 1GA wire that runs about 15 feet to the back of the van. This breaker spent 8000 miles of driving, up on the front bumper, out in the elements, handling winds from driving 70-80mph, rain, sleet, snow, hail, dirt, dust, bugs, etc. The thing looks as good as new, and didn't incorrectly trip once (I do need to do a test to make sure it still will trip, but I don't have any reason to suspect it would fail that). I'm soon going to mount it in a more sheltered location, for the permanent install, but am glad that it served in it's temporary installation so well.

This product is paired with a Blue Sea Systems 5026 ST Blade Fuse Block in my truck. These products are very durable and work perfectly together allowing me to safely add any 12V accessories that I wish to my vehicle. I built myself am extra fused power block for my 2011 Ford Crown Victoria and wired this straight to the fuse block to operate an internal cabin Rove 2 4K dash cam. The on/off switch enables me to turn the camera on when needed and off when not. The voltmeter is a plus as my car has a higher rated alternator (200 amps) than a civilian Crown Victoria (135 amps). It enables me to monitor the volts going through my extra fuseblock and ensures that my system is operating inside nominal parameters (14 amps).

I've used them many times without any failures on my snow/ice removal trucks and brine equipment.

Used this between solar charge controller and battery bank to replace a cheaper off brand breaker that always ran very hot. This one runs much cooler and has worked perfectly.

Blue sea genuine product It’s really good Save yourself some problems and order this right from the start i had put a cheap one and it was still letting current through when off . The cheap ones will also often only do 50% of what they are rated for so not saving anything by buying cheap products this is the right brand if you want to do it properly.

I ordered this to use as a circuit breaker for an entire race car electrical system. I am nothing less than impressed with Blue Sea’s quality. You can feel just by holding it that they did not cheap out on the materials used. Function and operating is simple - flip the little yellow arm into the block when in use, and press the red button when not. It’s that simple! Wiring is just as straight forward. This block has been tortured in muddy, wet off road racing and has performed flawlessly. I will be buying more Blue Sea products as I need them!

Haven't had enough load on the system to trip the breaker yet but it mounted easily and had good instructions on what hardware to use in the package. Easy to access the test and resets. It is indeed waterproof...this much I've tested.
