Perfect Bark Size for Custom Potting Mixes — Very Impressed!
I am extremely happy with this orchid bark! The 6–9mm size is absolutely perfect for what I wanted. The pieces are small enough to incorporate evenly into custom soil mixes, but still substantial enough to create the aeration and chunky structure I’m looking for. I use bark as an amendment in my houseplant mixes rather than only as a standalone orchid substrate, and this size is especially versatile. I’ve found it works beautifully for pots 2.5 inches and larger, where some of the larger orchid bark products on the market can be way too chunky and awkward—especially in smaller pots. The bark itself looks clean and consistent, with a very usable range of particle sizes and none of the enormous pieces that I would have to sit there breaking up by hand. It mixes easily with ingredients like potting soil, perlite, and other amendments to create a loose, well-aerated medium that doesn't become overly dense or compacted. If you're someone who mixes your own substrates for aroids, hoyas, Scindapsus, Syngonium, or other houseplants that appreciate good drainage and oxygen around their roots, this is a fantastic size to have on hand. Pictured are some rooted Scindapsus cuttings I just moved to soil. I’m genuinely impressed with the quality and consistency and will absolutely purchase this again. The 6–9mm size is the sweet spot. Highly recommend!

Best orchid bark
I have tried so many orchid barks. This is the best by far. It is not dusty and doesn't smell like chemicals . It is the right size and perfect for various species of orchids . Water drains perfectly and the product airates wonderfully.

Pricey but good
Product is as described, perfect sized, it is a little dusty but thats what id expected. It’s on the pricier side but it’s a good deal. I love to mix orchid bark into my custom mixes for drainage. Perfect for my plants!
