Yes it should. I’ve now had mine over a year and a half and gone threw a couple different flashlights that were all different sizes and have had no problems.

No. Just small “stinger” style flashlights

Would this holder work well for the common-size pepper spray canister?

The pouch is open ended. A straight tube like a pepper spray can would like just slide out. The clip on my flashlight keeps it from falling out.
