ECO-WORTHY 6 String PV Combiner Box(Metal Case) & 63A Circuit Breakers for Solar Panels

This is a really nice box with great build quality. The mc4 connectors and modular design make it very easy to install. Price is great.

I hooked up about 5,000 watts of solar panels to it and it is working flawlessly. The construction seems robust and it is definitely water and dust proof. The mounting plate is very easy and secure. Internal components are high value at this price point.

This could have been a great design but the cutting of corners in this unit results in use for low end systems only. First lets talk about how the 6 string unit has lower amp ratings than the 4 string unit. Next lets not that the 'upgraded 25A current fuse' (which is in a 30 amp holder by the way), is limited to only 15 amps per string. Outright misleading customers with that big amp number in the title. They could have upgraded to 10 gauge wire and got to the 20 amps I'd prefer. Then there is the plastic case. Which seems durable enough, I dropped it by accident from about 7 feet and it took just some minor surface damage. All of my other combiner boxes are metal so this was a change for me but I think might do ok - just depends on the UV resistance of the plastic long term. The thing that is bad about this design is the mount. It seems convenient at first because you can hold the plate up and not juggle the entire box. However, this means it really only has mounting support there in the center. Not in the corners like the metal boxes I've used. The final thing I want to mention is that this unit's DC output going back to the charge controller has holes that are too small for 1/2 inch non metallic conduit (which seems to be standard / plug and play swapping out on other combiner boxes of this size). And if you get a step drill to enlarge the holes, you will then learn that to save 2 cents or so they put the holes too close together for the non metallic conduit adapters to be next to each other. Which again is standard on other combiner boxes I've used. I had so much ope for this unit because of the larger DC breaker and wire size it supports but got so much disappointment. This was almost a great design.

I will tell you I was actually shocked at the quality of this box. When I purchased it the reviews I read said the same thing but I took it with a grain of salt. When I bought it I thought I'll have to change out a few things maybe beef up the wiring. Facts were I didn't have to do a single thing. The box itself is better than you'll expect, heavy duty and built right. The wiring is perfect for a high voltage system, and all the components are great right out of the box. I've already been asked twice to build a system for friends and this is the only combiner box I'll ever need and the only one I'd feel safe mounting to a friends home. If your a diy or solar pro you will be happy with this box.

The best value combiner on the market. Has everything you would want for a small off grid setup. If you want lightning protection and high end stuff look elsewhere. But for the basics this is great and doesn't cost a fortune. I've used these in multiple installs.

This in fact going to my BVI home, compared to the USA combiner boxes this is so well made. It just shows the different standards in electrical safety and construction. We are way ahead of americans here. This box is per wired and has connectors already there to make easy. Really impressed. 2 years down the line the lock has corroded and we have to replace. But is by the sea
