Yes these will work great on lightweight blocks we recommend using bolts with a 2mm+ thread any of our M8 upwards bolts will have a 2mm+ thread

It depends on how heavy your gate is, how tall the posts are and how thick the wall you are mounting the posts on. I used 150 mm into a brick wall, I also used them to mount 100 mm by 2000 mm posts,..... not sure if that helps?

Can i put these straight into brick wall to fasten or do I need raw plugs in first??

no rawl plug needed, just make sure that you drill the right size hole in the brickwork. there is a chart for this on the internet enter your bolt size M10 or M8 and it will give you the correct size hole to drill.
