Summary: Works well with at a minimum Hyundai/Kia/Genesis, Ford EVs, and Audi EVs, and at half the price of the TeslaTap mini. Very sturdy and reliable. Details: I’ve had several EVs, starting with a Tesla. So my home charger is a Tesla Gen 3 Wall charger. Some of the EVs I’ve had have been finicky with the NACS to J112 adapter I had at the time. A ‘22 Hyundai Ioniq 5 wouldn’t start charging until 5 or 6 attempts and more recently the Kia EV9. I was advised to get a TeslaTap mini, and it worked for the ‘22 Ioniq, and it worked. But now I both the EV9 and a Mustang Mach-E. After I accidentally broke the TeslaTap mini while reversing my Mach-E out into our tight driveway, where the EV9 was charging, I decided to try this Lectron instead. It’s half the price and is highly rated. It works perfectly. With some other electrical issues at home, the other TeslaTap I had for the Mach-E also stopped working, so I got another of these Lectron adapters. Also works perfectly with my Mach-E. I highly recommend this.

Very well made works great with good speed

First ever 1 star review I've felt the need to post, in hopes of sparing someone else. Bought the Lectron adapter for my Porsche Taycan 4S because it appeared to be the best adapter available (clean branding, higher price point, plenty of orders, etc) but that was a huge mistake. The adapter worked for about 10 uses, then I started getting an overheating warning on both my car's charging port and on the Gen 3 Tesla Wall Charger as well. The car would charge properly for about an hour, but as time progresses the adapter heats up and charging kWh slows down from 8.8 to about 2 before it eventually quits due to overheating. I spent 3 full days troubleshooting, and I'm a pretty resourceful person. From verifying that both the Porsche and Wall Charger are up to date, to ensuring that my 50 amp breaker has a max output of 40 amps, to even putting the Tesla Charger into "Compatibility Mode" which is designed to work for non-Tesla vehicles - nothing worked. After speaking with a representative from the Tesla Wall Charger support team, they were able to tell me first hand that Lectron complaints have skyrocketed on their end and that the higher ups are aware and actively trying to figure out a solution to this. They said something is off between the communication between the Tesla Charger and the adapter itself. Other details important to note: Lectron has not responded to my voicemail and 3 calls I've left them over the last 2 weeks. I also noticed they have dropped the price on this exact product over the last couple of weeks. Perhaps they are finally experiencing the impact of a inadequate product. My solution: I returned the product and ordered a replacement adapter. I won't be saying the replacement's brand name because this is not intended to be a shoutout to another competitor. I will say that this replacement is LESS money, rated at 80 amps instead of 48, and has zero issues reported to the Tesla Wall Connector Support Team, whereas Lectron had several issues reported. Do not buy this product. It could have caused serious damage to my tesla wall charger, my rather expensive car, or worse, it could have burned down my house!

I purchased a Lectron Tesla to J1772 EV Charging Adapter about seven months ago. It worked flawlessly at first, but recently it began disconnecting during charging and sometimes took days to fully charge my vehicle. I reached out to Lectron’s customer service, and they were outstanding. After a few emails, they sent me a replacement adapter with no hassle at all. Their support was responsive, professional, and genuinely helpful. Because of this excellent service, I’ll continue using Lectron products and highly recommend them.

Edit January 2026: The new unit is still working great without overheating. Upgrading to 4 stars. I'll review again maybe in another 6 months. Edit July 2025: After reaching out to support and a few back and forth messages, they shipped me a new unit. So far its working fine, but we'll see if it stands the test of time. Changing my 1-star to a 3-star with a calendar reminder to bump it further in 6 months. ___________ Original review, June 2025 Worked fine for a couple months, but now overheats on every use unless I throttle charge rate to 60%. It first overheated at 100% charge rate. I reduced car to 80% charge throughput and that worked for a while. Now that its summer, I have to reduce it further to 60%. At 80%, 90%, or 100%, my Tesla home charger will detect high handle temperature and will limit charge. Using another adapter doesn't cause this. I've included a graph from my homeassistant that shows the handle temp goes up over 149F. This particular session from the graph included me unplugging, reducing the car charge rate and then the handle temp climbs to 149F again. I've cleaned all of the contacts and confirmed there is no visible dirt/corrosion/etc.

We recently took delivery of a BMW i4 and needed a way to charge it at home quickly. We didn't want to install a second wall charger or leave the mobile charger connected under the garage door (the Wall Connector is mounted outside) unless we had to. I've been eyeing this Lectron Tesla to J1772 adapter since we pre-ordered the i4. Fortunately shipping was super fast (next-day) and I was able to try it today. It's a very sturdy design and clicks on to both the Tesla connector and the car securely. It started charging the car without issues and it was able to deliver the full performance identical to when my Tesla Model 3 is connected. It was delivering 240V + 48A as indicated by the Tesla Wall Charger API. We were able to charge the i4 from ~75% to 90% in just 1h15m. This is a great solution for anyone in a similar predicament who installed a Tesla Wall Connector earlier to charge their Tesla and now own another EV with a J1772 connector. While not as small as the J1772 adapter Tesla includes with their cars, it's still compact enough to easily bring with you, or leave in the car, so it can be used at hotels which only offer Tesla chargers. Many benefits and cost savings over a second wall charger or an extra NEMA 14-50 outlet if you don't already have one or prefer not to use it.

When we first started using the product, it started out okay, it was charging at normal speeds and we didn't use it often as we weren't heavily driving the car. After about 2 weeks we noticed that the charging was starting to throttle within 10-20 minutes of using the adapter and it was going extremely slow. We live in Arizona, so we chalked it up to the heat and figured it was on us. then as we continued to try and use it when the weather cooled off we saw the same issue, it's not even going a full 10 minutes without either throttling to slow charging or none at all. We had toughed it out with the product for about 40-50 days and gave it our best effort to make things work. Eventually, we had enough and I contacted Amazon support as we have a 1 year warranty for the product and Amazon support tends to be helpful. My support agent confidently told me that we would get an exchange and tried to help me troubleshoot it with no luck. Once he told me that we could set up a return or exchange, he told me that I would have to contact the seller but it would be "no problem as they hold themselves to high standards and get great reviews and are an Amazon partner", well within a day I got a response telling me that this is past the return window, nothing about the warranty, no apology, we just have to live with a broken product? Very annoying, that was an expensive purchase to last less than 60 days and overheat no matter what. So much for a 1-year warranty!

3月に購入して外出先で時々使用していたところ、 気がついたらテスラ側のロックが外れていました。 バネとフック部分は見つけれましたが、 止めてあるピン(？)が見当たらず。 何で止められてたか覚えていませんが。 商品説明に1年保証と書いてありますが、 Amazonの購入履歴でみたら保証期限は1ヶ月と なっており返品、交換申請ができません。 LECTRONに直接、問い合わせしていますが 海外製品なので英語ができない方はキツイかも？
