The black pad is a tacky leather type material. Has held up very well at my range with cement benches. **Q: How heavy is it?** A: 2 lbs, 1.4 oz. Nice size, and not particularly heavy, but if you want to carry it in, say, a shooting box, which is usually pretty heavy anyway, it could make a big difference.
