I think there's a work boot under that plate armor...
These boots are awesome! Very high quality, and look to be more than durable enough to take the abuse I put my boots through. Steel toe cap is generously sized and comfortable. This is my first pair of boots to feature metatarsal guards, so I don't have much frame of reference, but I find them quite comfy. They do slightly impede movement of the ankle; if I squat down far enough, my lower shin rests on the metatarsal guard. I do live production work for a living (think concerts, etc.) and these make me feel safe and comfortable while rolling 600 pound road cases off of trucks. Very pleased with them. Pros: tough and durable. Waterproof. Basically armor with a work boot hidden underneath. The added weight probably builds leg muscle. (har har) Cons: Heavy. Not as breathable as my last pair of boots, which had gore-tex lining. You may want to keep an extra pair of socks in the car if you're working a 10+ hour day. Pro Tip: replace the laces with 550 paracord.

Great boots
I really surprised in how comfortable these are and they are super heavy duty but not very heavy in weight. I really love these boots and from now on I will buy these boots. I'm a CNC machinist for an oil meters producing company and in my feet all day these are great boots. The metatarsal guard is heavy duty love the feel of the protection I get from these boots..... One year later still look brand new I wear these everyday everywhere I go they are still comfortable. I go through a pair every 6 months I usually buy redwing irish setters. I'm so glad I bought these. I'll never buy a different pair ever. My boots by now are usually uncomfortable and all cut up and beat up looking. My boots are still brand new looking I cut the grass, work on my car, machine, I shovel, do yard work, more the grass everything in these boots and they still look and feel brand new highly recommend. UPDATE... Two years later I bought another pair and both pairs still look like new and I'm a machinist I work with metal and go through boots like nothing. Best boots ever

Love these boots.
I wait to make reviews. I'm not one of those who will post a gushing review only to take it back with an "UPDATE" a week later. I've had these boots since...well, actually I don't remember. Winter. A few months. Maybe 5, even. I love these. I'd buy them again. I wear them every single day. I've walked miles in them, even. Not a stitch has busted yet. They are comfy--tho perhaps a little heavy, but what do you expect? They have a good deal of steel in them. They look gorgeous, and I feel very protected, with all the OSHA-Specific features. I walk through deep puddles, totally dry. Mind you--I take good care of my things so that may figure in. But these are quality, without a doubt. I wear a 9 wide. UPDATE AFTER A COUPLE YEARS: These are still going strong! I (still) stand behind my earlier praise.

It took over a month to get the tongue to break in without killing my shins
Not sure why, have worn boots for the last 4 decades. First time I have ever had the tongue not sit in a fashion that it didn't dig into my shins. I wear these 9+ hours a day 6-7 days a week, and it took literally a month to break the tongue into a comfort fit. Didn't matter which way I adjusted it. And now, they squeek terribly, just started doing it last week. I went and got leather oil to see if it was because of the guard rubbing, and when I took out the laces and pulled the guard forward, welllllll, the edges of the guard underside have worn to the padding , and that was what caused the noise. Oiled them up and had to relace them a different way so as the guard isn't actually touching the boot..... Don't get me wrong, between the welding related work, and also working a dock job where I don't need 500# + pallets accidentally breaking off body parts, they do what they are supposed to. BUT, for what I spent, I shouldn't have had these issues. The tread is still pretty good, as I am literally walking and moving the whole day, but the tongue issue really needs addressed and the metguard underside should be definately figured out. See how much longer the tread lasts before I consider another pair or looking at something else.

Love them. Great ankle support, comfortable fit! Couldn't ask for better
So far only had them for 2 hours. At first the felt very uncomfortable. The soles were enlarged, and felt very cramped. But after and hour of wear it shrunk down. The ankle support is quite thick and while the shoes are very heavy(feels like I have bricks on my feet) the support and strength is definitely worth the extra weight. This is the second pair of Timberlands I have owned(the first was a water proof pair for work at Lowes) and I WILL be a customer for life! The price is superb, and I would even pay more for these! Great product!

Built like a tank
Very nice boots seem to be very comfortable and very well made definitely not the cheapest ones but if they can handle the work I will definitely be buying another pair

Usually good boots but....
10 months in the boots overall were excellent as usual.. but i ran into an unusual problem the stitching on the upper heel just gave out... no damage, havent even worn the sole out, usually these boots last me several years.. ive owned 5 pairs of these boots over the last several years, i usually get three years or more out of a pair and this is the first time this has happened.. rest of the boot is in nearly perfect shape but the upper heel has come unstitched so its unuseable.. being my only pair of work boots its very problematic, usually the sole gives out first after several years of service.. and being that its december all my money is tied up with getting my kids their christmas gifts so i wont be able to replace these right away.. guess ill have to get a cheap pair from wal mart to get me by.. sad.. i love these boots.. guess nothing good ever lasts...

We do a lot of gouging and cutting at my shop, and these boots have held up great the past 6 months. Get tough toe coating for them and they hold up even better.

They fell apart at the ankles after 8 months!! For how much I paid for these boots, they should have lasted a lot longer then 8 months!!! Not worth the $$$$
