**Q: Can anyone comment on how this ruler holds up in a saltwater environment? I can’t imagine too many people measuring 60” fresh water fish...**
A: It works very well in saltwater if you  Rinse it off with fresh water after every use. I got one for kayak fishing in the saltwater.  I would  Recommend it.

**Q: Can this be secured to a surface with screws ?**
A: Probably through the back plastic piece

**Q: Does it include a ring or carabiner to connect it or hang it?  I see it has place for one.**
A: Nope
