I saw this tool when looking at watches on line that everyone seemed to be using to show the watch face measurement. I assumed it was some expensive tool for watch collectors. Looked it up on Amazon and it was only about $8. I am not a collector but have a few watches and like to buy certain sizes. Bought this and it works great, very simple to use, seems well made, came with batteries and a regular old tape measure so you can measure your wrist as well. So far very impressed, worked exactly as I expected it to right out of the box. Also has a nice little plastic case for storage.

I had very low expectations for a pair of plastic calipers. Being plastic I wouldn't recommend them for machining but they could be useful at the desk to measure parts that you are trying to model in CAD. The repeatability is excellent. Spot on every time for 20 cycles in a row. I bought them to make a tail stock "DRO" and I thought plastic jaws would be easier to cut off then hardened stainless but now I think I might get another pair or two for measuring for 3D printing where super high accuracy is not required. Came with a battery preinstalled (with a plastic pull tab) and two spares in what has to be the most odd shaped case I've every seen. Overall, for low precession work like 3D printing, I would 100% recommend.
