In short, The Richest Man in Babylon is a series of the most powerful financial parables ever written . These stories are set in ancient Babylon and relate the story of a Babylonian slave who uses the secrets of the book to become man of great wealth. Each story has a concrete point that becomes apparent from reading and digesting the message. These points are basic tenets of how to become successful in business. This book is perfect if you learn by reading the experiences of others. The entire book is told in a story-like format, so it often goes down much like reading a collection of short stories. The lessons and principles in The Richest Man In Babylon are pretty simple and to the point. The book consists of different stories back in the Babylonian days. The Richest Man in Babylon documented everything he had learned and his progress on clay tablets, which were later found in the 1930’s by archaeologists and professors at a university. These professors had then learned of these principles and applied them to their own lives, to also become wealthy and financially abundant. Review: Teaching our Kids - This book is so great! We have had all our kids read this book and when they finish it we give them a certain amount of money to invest into the stock market and create an account for them so they can buy and sell as they see fit. We came up with this idea on our planning getaway weekend. We use this workbook from directourpath.com that instructs us how to get away and takes us through a three day schedule of planning through each category of life so we are on the same page with each other as we strive to live the best life with our family! Review: Worth the read - This a great book on the very basics of finance and saving. I wish someone had given it to me or told me about it when I was younger. It’s also a entertaining read, in several short stories all related to finance and saving.

Knowledge you can pass on.
some lessons are timeless, I think this book is great for teenage kids who just got a job or need help learning hoe to save or the art of investing. It gives a great foundation on how to make your money work for you.

Great story!
My 19-year-old grandson asked for some books on finance. "The Richest Man in Babylon" was my first choice. It was recommended in a class I took many years ago by very successful financial advisor. I have since loaned and lost several copies. I suggested he read this book first then follow-up with "The Millionaire Next Door"

This one has pretty small print , and a few minor typos, but I like the look and feel of the book... Overall pretty good!

A must have for anyone middle school or older
Great basic book. Provides a wonderful foundation or re-establishes the basics for those of us farther along. I give this book to anyone I think will read it.

Highly Recommend
This book was a recommendation and I re-read it as necessary to support my focus on becoming financially independent. Dense language to some and I wasn't sure where we were going the first read-through since it seems to start mid-story, but it quickly evolves into something undeniably useful and necessary. Enjoy!

This book should be read in school!
If you're like me, a total idiot when it comes to dealing with money - or ruled by a lifelong lack mentality, this book can clearly open us up to a completely new understanding of what "rich" means, and that we're absolutely entitled to being it. It has the potential to change someone's life. Since I first started reading it, I've implemented the 10th rule, for example, and as if by miracle, I seem to have more money to go around than before, without making more. It's a must read, really. This should be taught in school!
