OBD OBD2 16 Pin Connector Diagnostic Adapter Cable Compatible for BMW 20 Pin

Works perfectly!!

I have a 2003 E39 so I've never needed this, I've always just used the 16 pin OBDII to USB cable with PA Soft. I recently acquired an additional E39, this time a 1999, which requires the 20 pin under the hood, regardless of the OBDII port under the dash (OBDII port is only for federal emissions testers). I was skeptical of this to work with my PA Soft, but it looks right up no issues. Even works with my Autel MaxiDiag Elite! The cable itself is heavy, which huge positive in my book, not flimsy and cheap. Definitely buy it if you run into a similar scenario.

This helped me link a new OBD2 reader to my BMW E39 CAM module in the engine compartment. Worked flawlessly. Had purchased a different brand on Amazon, and that one did not work, so this brand is more trustworthy.

It's cool. Performs well

Works with a Foxwell NT510 on an E36 M3. I was able to scan the VIN, perform an auto scan of installed modules, read DTC's, and reset the airbag light. The only limitation is within the NT510 as it can only read data and reset codes. If you have an earlier model BMW that has proprietary bus information routed only to the round connector (basically anything not related to the DME/emissions), then you need this adapter.

Works as it should. It communicates with the OBD2 connector with no issues.

Bought this adapter to use a scanner on our BMWs, we have two, and it doesn't work at all. Tried several scanners, resetters, computers to no avail. The adapter simply doesn't work. I guess it was worth the shot, since it was very cheap, but it has been impossible to use it in any way.

Doesn't allow communication with OBD1 vehicle. It fits the connector but OBD1 BMW is 16 pin not 20 pin. Based on description stating OBD OBDII, I took a chance that it would work on the older cars. 3 stars because I can't say it doesn't work - just doesn't allow me to connect with my scan tools (Code scanner and VagCom) to OBD1 BMW. Didn't expect that it would but for the price was worth a chance.

It really works perfectly and it’ll do the job. Work with most obd2 diagnostic tool. I used it with Carly and Delphi on a BMW Z3 from ‘98.

I stayed up all night trying to trouble shoot why I couldnt connect to ecu, wasted a whole 12 hours because of this cable being wired wrong 16 Pin side has 2 pins soldered together ive had to strip it down and rewire the cable properly very very poor quality product do not recommend for anyone trying to use for K-line model tuning or diagnostics!
