I haven’t added a separate graphics card yet, so Intel’s integrated graphics let me hook it up to the TV and get the build running right away. One evening my son wanted to play Minecraft, and it handled that at modest settings while I had a video open on the other screen. That was the moment I felt glad I bought this chip instead of waiting until I had every part sorted out.The 5.0 GHz boost is plenty for the games and everyday work we use it for. I also like that it’s unlocked, so I have the option to tune it later if I decide to spend time on that. Just check your motherboard before ordering. This uses LGA1700 and works with 600-series chipsets, and you’ll want a decent cooler for a 125W processor. It’s a capable centerpiece for the living room PC we actually use.

Building a desktop for my apartment, I picked the i7-12700K for gaming and everyday work. I finally got to play after unpacking boxes, and it handled my game while I had a few tabs and music open. I’m glad I chose it; my setup feels quick without stretching my budget too far.

I chose the integrated graphics so I could put together the front desk PC without buying a separate graphics card right away. My motherboard has display outputs, and setup was straightforward. The 8 performance cores and 4 efficiency cores give me room to keep my daily apps open while I check an order or answer the phone. The unlocked chip also leaves room for tuning later, though I haven’t felt a need to fuss with it.This week, I had a line at the counter and needed to pull up a customer file while printing a receipt. The desktop stayed responsive, and I was glad I didn’t have to leave someone waiting while it caught up.

Very fast and easy to install

I decided a few months ago that it was time to build a new home computer and rather than salvage parts from several of my computers and boxes of old still working parts, a ground up build would be my goal this time.Lots of research, and looking at specs for builds using the Intel CPU platform, lead me to purchase theIntel Core i7-12700K Gaming Desktop Processor with Integrated Graphics.Typically, I don't buy the latest and greatest computer components. I tend to prefer purchasing items after the bugs are worked out, and the prices drop to a point that I feel the value to component reliability is aligned with what my intended use for the item is.I'm not a big gamer, though I do run X-Plane at the max setting and this CPU handles the workload great, and the CPU is always in a very safe range with the cooling system and other support components I chose for this build.This is my fourth Intel based system build and will likely not be my last. The Intel Core i7-12700K is perfect for my needs and has proven reliable to date!

Unlike its newer counterparts, the 12th Gen is not affected by the performance problems, needs for updates, etc.This CPU is an amazing blend of power and efficiency. It delivers strong performance for gaming, productivity, and everyday tasks without the need for a high-end liquid coolers, but can't hurt. ;-) Best of all, its price-to-performance ratio is outstanding, making it feel like a genuine steal. I can't recommend this Intel Core i7-12700K at 5.0 GHz Unlocked LGA1700 600 Series Chipset enough.

The 12th gen core i7 12700k really is a great processor. I'm super happy with my purchase even though it's 4 generations old at this point.I had a friend who bought a 14900k and he was VERY upset with his purchase since the voltage issue was affecting him. He even to this day has issues with his CPU.I've never had an issue with my 12th gen Intel processor and am very happy I made the decision to buy the 12700k.It's able to run what ever I throw at it and is very capable when running games that are CPU intensive. City Skylines 2 for example. The 12700k blew my i5 8400 out of the water when playing this CPU intense game.

This CPU only has EFI/UEFI graphics capability, no CSM integrated graphics capabilities.If installing Windows 7, Windows 7 will require CSM (CSM with rudimentary EFI/UEFI graphics) capability.Reason, migrating a retail Microsoft Windows 7 license to a newer motherboard, due to a recently broken motherboard. But think I've run into the typical Microsoft bait and switch, where even trying to migrate the Windows 7 retail license to another motherboard will fail due to intentionally broken Microsoft activation and no Microsoft phone activation. Think I'll forgo simply handing over $100-200 for possibly promoting a failing Microsoft licensing/activation management system. Likely because I purchased the license at the very beginnings of the Microsoft store, as the store ordering system does not show my initial purchase of the retail Windows 7 Professional version, only sent an Email.2025.01.16 An additional note, this CPU runs supposedly very hot, requiring a TDP 125 watt fan/cooler, however I'm using aThermaltake Gravity 95W CPU Cooler/Fan (CL-P094-AL09WT-A) and seems to be keeping the CPU cool at ~67C with turbo modes deactivated during peak loads. With turbo modes activated, remains at ~87C maximum during MemTest86+ testing. Well within the ~100C maximum temperature CPU specifications. I also have a second Intel RM1 65W fan/cooler for backup purposes, due to lengthy shipping time. You'll see many folks posting within Internet forums doing fine with low-profile CPU fans, versus the larger radiating CPU fans for which I dislike and question the stability of the larger fans.

Una scheggia!! Ancora oggi uno dei migliori processori, volevo prendere una 14gen ma poi ho letto recensioni non molto convinceti, lo uso per lavoro e gaming, raffreddato con un be quiet dark rock elite (costoso, ma ne vale la pena) non ho mai superato i 40° fin'ora. Molto soddisfatto!!

Perfect part to finish building my PC. Disappointed in the size of box that Intel's CPU box was delivered in. boxed loosely in larger box. CPU box was damaged when arrived at my door. I was worried about the CPU when it showed up. Thankfully Intel packages their chips well. Thanks to Intel my system is up and running beautifully. would buy again.
