. Review: Beyonce's Best Vocally - Though I've loved Beyonce for years, it took me a while to buy one of her albums. All I can say is, I made the right choice! I've heard "B'Day" (I bought the Deluxe Edition just for "Flaws n' All," but after a first listen, I could not comprehend why they'd ruin such an amazingly beautiful, touching song by adding some weird scratching background sound. Horrible. Plus, many of the other songs were too thumpy-rappy, making "Flaws n' All" feel awkwardly out of place. In fact, they should have added "Flaws n' All' to "I Am...Sasha Fierce"! I returned the CD.) OK, enough about "B'Day." If you love Beyonce for her gorgeous vocals (which her hip-hop/rap/street songs do not showcase, to say the least), "I Am...Sasha Fierce" is the CD for you. The minute you hear the first track, you'll notice that Beyonce's growth as a singer is undeniable and exciting. This is a 2-disc release and yes, I've read the complaints about the two CDs being wildly different, what's the point, etc. While it might have been nice for the entire album to be ALL ballads and songs that truly showcase her vocals, I have to say her singing is featured first and foremost on all tracks, which makes the whole album very enjoyable, in part because of the disparity, and, bottom line, it's Beyonce at her very best. Now in her late 20s, her voice is richer and stronger, and we're hearing her gifted range like never before. She's also sounding more confident at this stage, as she should. This is the Beyonce from Oscar night 2005, when she belted out an unprecedented three-song set. Those performances blew me away and she definitely left me wanting more. This is the big, bold, beautiful voice I hear on "I Am...Sasha Fierce." The first CD - her softer, slower, more personal collection - is just that, and all the songs are beautiful in their own way. These are true, classic ballads (such as "Halo"), and you're treated to one whole CD of beautifully written songs and incomparable vocals. But when I'm in the mood to crank up "Single Ladies," in goes the second CD, her "Sasha Fierce" side. It's definitely more pumped up, but almost none of the songs fall into the earlier hip-hop/Jay-Z-inspired style of many of the B'Day songs, for example. The second "Fierce" CD songs are definitely lively and witty, yet still melodic and varied. But again, her voice is what you hear, not all the noise. You can't go wrong with this album. Review: Fantastic Album - This is a fantastic album. Or actually I should say albums since this is a two-disc set and each disk is pretty much a separate album. The first is titled I Am and is full of nice, wonderful, vulnerable love songs/ballads. The second CD is titled Sasha Fierce, and is full of the more upbeat and fun songs. The ballads on the first disc are all really wonderful to listen to. If I Were A Boy is catchy and really fun to sing along actually. Halo is great. Disappear has a sweet, nice melody. Broken-Hearted Girl is another fun catchy song to sing. Ave Maria is wonderfully sung. Smash Into You is pretty touching and sweet. Satellites is also wonderfully sung. That's Why You're Beautiful is alright; it's my least fave of the ballads. The fun songs on the second disc are great too. I love Single Ladies. Radio is great fun. Diva is pretty catchy and interesting. Sweet Dreams is ok. Video Phone is sexy. I love Hello. Ego is pretty great; lots of innuendo I think is apparent. Scared Of Lonely is ok. Overall, I really enjoy this album. It's different from the B'day and Dangerously in Love. And I think that's pretty awesome because it's a Beyonce that's fresh and interesting and diverse and still very enjoyable.

Finest Since Dangerously in Love
After taking a year to mature and grow into herself, Beyonce has come back full force showing two new sides of herself, with no accompanying artists or covers in tow (not even hubby Jay-Z!). Beyonce has also found a neat way to satisfy her fetish for separating the up-tempos from the slow songs--a double disk release. Together the two discs are a collection of Beyonce's highs and lows, honest acoustic accounts of love rapidly transformed into the speaker thumping club hits that make up SASHA FIERCE. SASHA FIERCE gives the average listener a wave of different sounds to enjoy: from the infectiously complex dance rhythms found in declaration joints such as Single Ladies & Ego, to the Euro pop influenced Radio (my personal favorite) & Sweet Dreams. Moving on to the unapologetically sincere Scared to Be Lonely in which Ms. Fierce bares her heart over a fast paced Darkchild beat to reveal that her innermost fears are not that much different from that of her listeners. I AM... is basically the polar opposite of SASHA, and introduces the "real" Beyonce to listeners in a set of gorgeous balladry. However, each song has Beyonce crossing boundaries that have previously boxed her in as an R&B soul diva in the past. On one such track, That's Why You're Beautiful, Beyonce sings a highly meaningful adult alternative ballad with much ease, and puts her own soulful edge on the rock-tinged If I Were A Boy, a song which envisions Beyonce as the unfaithful member in her relationship so as to put her cheating man in her shoes. The acoustic Satellites is a song dripping with depth and pure emotion as Beyonce sings about her life in the limelight. Smash Into U is a truly sweet love song I absolutely adore, and has obvious country influences, however Beyonce makes it her own by embellishing it with her own superior vocal dexterity. Beyonce takes cue from Leona Lewis by singing a charming ballad about the perfect man over a hard beat in the easily likable Halo. One track that failed desperately was the annoying Broken Hearted Girl; I usually enjoy pieces written by Babyface; however this one is an exception as I mostly just got confused with the lyrics and bored by the melody. Another track that should have been left of the album was the ridiculously trashy nonsense called Video Phone. It makes me sad to think that such trash was left on the disc, when it could have been just as easily replaced by the unreleased gem Why Don't You Love Me, with its mind-numbingly passionate vocals layered over a pulsating drum beat, and lyrics written by Beyonce's younger sister Solange, who also penned the tongue-in cheek lyrics found on Beyonce's urban smash hit Upgrade U. Other than the two songs mentioned above, I truly love the entire album. I found that a lot of people seem to enjoy the music found on the album, but simply dislike the sequence of songs. I suggest that such people should buy the album and then create their own order for the songs in a personal playlist on their ipods--which is personally what I do for almost every album I buy. The overall rating for this product would have been five stars, since this is indeed a very solid effort catering to a whole spectrum of listeners, but I think the decision to release an unnecessary "standard" edition of this very same album was a very greedy ploy to pry more money out of the hands of unsuspecting customers...hence my ultimate rating is 4 stars.

Excellent
I absolutely am Beyonce's biggest fan. I love this girl and everything aboout her. I bought my initial album from Best Buy. I have a guy friend that was interested in listening so I made sure that I bought it for him. I also bought another copy for my mother. She is just brilliant all the way round if you're asking for my opinion. Her songs you can relate to if you just listen to the words. Her voice is just so angelic and perfect. I love Miss Beyonce and I will stand to the highest mountain and tell anybody. Everybody that knows me knows that she is MY girl and I would purchase anything that she does because its a guarantee that it will be good, with no question. Thanks Amazon.com

I AM....Sasha Fierce
I listened to this album and it grew on me. It is showing her going in a different direction. This double album reveals a distinctly different side of her personality, character and sensibility, a forum for the yin-and-yang of her developing artistry. I AM....,provides Beyonce with a musical showcase for a group of intimate heartfelt ballads. SASHA FIERCE gives voice to Beyonce's up-tempo dance-oriented other side. With this album, she reveals a variety of musical aspects and interests that may take us fans by surprise. She has produced, written, recorded and performed a finely crafted selection of contemporary ballads that combine the best elements of pop and soul music while expanding the possibilities of both genres. I hope this album will be successful like her other ones. Get this album if you are a fan of Beyonce or R&B/Pop music.

Nothing Extraordinary or Brilliant Here: Decent
This album is definitely going to divide many people who may have been looking for another 'Dangerously In Love' or 'B'day' album, but if anything we can all agree that Beyonce is not afraid to try anything, and that's what being an artist is all about. Whether this next installment in her journey wins people over remains to be seen, but if you aren't feeling it, she'll definitely draw you in somehow before too long. The only 'concept' of this album is the whole alter-ego persona set forth by one disc that offers a more genuine, pure, innocent Beyonce (I Am...) through a set of colorful ballads that definitely showcase her vocal ability versus another disc (Sasha Fierce) that is edgy, sassy, and hip-hop. Not so 'creative' to be honest, as all these tracks could've easily fit onto a single disc and divided appropriately, but an A for effort. I would've even been for pulling a Nelly and selling 2 separate CDs, possibly at two separate times (the ballads for the cold/winter months and then pushing the dance stuff out 6 months later as she prepares for tour). I don't understand the purpose of releasing a regular version and a Deluxe Version that offers extra tracks, Sony could've simply made the Deluxe Version the ONLY version. That marketing is beyond me and I'm sure the Deluxe Version will trump the regular. With that being said, a brief run down: I Am...: Beyonce is not raising any bars or venturing into uncharted territory. At best, this is a departure from the soulful ballads we are used to hearing her belt out at times. This type of music is no different then what Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, and Whitney Houston cranked out in the 80s and 90s, so I can't really say that she is stepping her game up on this set. Many of the songs are in the vein of current Adult Contemporary/Pop chart-topper Leona Lewis, and when you listen to a bulk of them (especially with it being made known that 'Halo' was a song written for Lewis), it's quite easy to imagine her voice on the tracks instead. Vocally, Beyonce delivers on this set, although sometimes she has the ablility to over-do it, which loses the power and essence of the track at times. However, this is the better of the two discs in my opinion. Stand out tracks: -If I Were A Boy -Halo -Disappear -Broken Hearted Girl -Ave Maria -Smash Into You -That's Why You're Beautiful Sasha Fierce: 'Sasha Fierce' plays on Beyonce's stage persona Sasha, but loses focus right after 'Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It).' Songs like 'Radio,' 'Diva' (which samples Lil' Wayne's 'A Milli' too little too late and is best suitable for a mix tape some 3-4 months ago), and 'Video Phone' lyrically are all over the place and sound a bit immature and foolish in comparison to her previous bangers, as well as the tone set with the first disc. The beats are hot and club-friendly, suitable more for a rapper than a singer, but the melodies are off quite a bit. This disc in all honesty is a let down as a whole, but some will beg to differ. I truly expected more given what she's been capable of in the past. Stand out tracks: -Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It) -Sweet Dreams -Hello -Ego -Scared of Lonely Overall, this album is average, just like her other works; a live performance, tour, or video is what will take it over the edge speaking as unbiased as I possibly can where she is concerned. Nothing extraordinary or brilliant here, not even classic. A definite risk. This will definitely be a test for fans of her previous works. Will they jump on board, or abandon ship?

Nao veio avariado, acrilico e disco perfeitos. Impressão do encarte é boa.

Brought this to finish off my Beyonce collection. Great album full of great bops/ballads but if you want to save money I would recommend buying the platinum edition instead which has more tracks. Delivery was very fast and the discs were in excellent condition.
