Review: Works perfect - Good product still works after a few years
Review: For the price, great little pump. - I just installed this at my remote cabin to bring water from the pond to the rear porch. Installation was easy, and I installed a 1" water line to it, with a foot valve at the pond end. I used about 60 ft. of tubing from in the pond and under the cabin, with an overall rise of likely 12 feet at most. (I didn't bother with calculations and took a chance that it would work.) I soaked the pump for a day prior to installation so the leathers would be good and moist. It works fantastic! Don't know why I didn't do it a long time ago. Priming it was a piece of cake, although a week later when I went to pump it again, it was necessary to pour a couple of gallons into the pump to get it re-primed (but not like a total priming). I will be installing a check valve close to the pump to correct this, though it's no big deal if I don't. I am very pleased thus far, and will report if there are any issues in the future.

**Q: Do I need other parts with the pum or it is all set? I want to mount it on rain barrel**
A: This is just the pump body and working parts: You will need a pipe to reach the near bottom of your barrel, a foot valve with a particle screen and possibly a reducer between the pump and pipe. Amazon and the local home stores sell these parts.

**Q: how many feet head will it pump and with what size diameter pipe?**
A: The pump is rated to pump 25 vertical feet , I used 1 1/4 galv. steel pipe driven about 24ft.

**Q: Can it be set up to have the handle at 3 o'clock and the spout at 6 o'clock?**
A: ..as long as you remember that its 5 O'clock somewhere" 👍

**Q: Would this type pump work if connected up to city water at meter in an emergency???**
A: In most cities, the pressure in your water comes from "gravity", as the water is usually up in a tower or a tank up the side of a hill.  Even without any sort of power, the water is still going to have all that gravity-created pressure as it's coming _down_ the pipes to your house.

I've bought 4 of these pumps from Amazon for different wells over the last 5 years. They are well made unlike most of the other Chinese pumps that are not cast well. I have found through the years, when replacing the bottom leather, retighten the bolts again about a week later. You'll be happy with this pump.
