Thank Arturia for upgrading the MicroFreak with the vocoder. Just buy this microphone and you are ready to go!

This is the official mic from arturia that goes with the microfreak. I can't compare it to any others because I've never used a vocoder before but I can confirm that it works if you set it up correctly.

It works better than any other cheap mic I've tried. I've tried a Boya lav mic, and an old Sony mini-disc mic with trrs adapter. This seems to have a better dynamic range. It pics up better than the others - all the vowel sounds, and some consonant sounds - it is more sensitive at all gain levels. Sorta tempted to not return it. It has a pass-through for headphones. The goose-neck is thin and scarily flexible. I don't want to bend it too much. The 'freak by itself is thin, sleek, and rugged. With the mic, the volume of space it occupies gets bigger, you know? Do I sort of want to take it off? Yes. Will I leave it on and never use it? Probably. Will I be happy the one or two times I'll ever use it? Absolutely. If I decide to one day sell it, will I be like, "Aww dood, check out this mic!" or will I be like, "Aww dood, the mic for this is pretty decent if you can get it." Now we dolly back. Now we fade to black.

I couldn't find anyone else who sold this mic cheaper then Amazon. Frankly, it's overpriced, but if you want to add the vocoder aspect to your micro brute, you don't have much choice.
