Set Contains: One Planet Waves Auto-Trim Tuning Machines, 3 + 3 Setup, Gold Review: I LOVE these tuners. I have them on my new ESP E-II Eclipse and a new Schecter C1-Classic. The ESP came with Gotoh auto locking tuners that are absolute crap imo. They are quirky in operation, and worse than that is that they don't hold tune. Even after a week of using new strings tuning would not stabilize. Even though the ESP is only about a month old I decided to get the Planet Waves locking tuners. I really prefer manual locking tuners as I know the string is locked because I locked it. I have manual locking tuners on my Fender Strat since 1991 and loved manual locking since then. The ESP with the Gotoh's would be out of tune the next day every time. After I installed the PW tuners the ESP now holds tune beautifully. Even if I don't get a chance to play the ESP for 3-4 days, I pick it up and it's in tune. Thank you Planet Waves. Goodbye Gotoh. On the Schecter C1-Classic it comes with really nice non locking Grover tuners. Grover makes excellent tuners and I've always had great experience with them. I was considering Grover locking tuners but the price on the PW's was too good to pass up. They work awesomely on the Schecter just as they do on the ESP. The PW's on the Schecter are gold and chrome on the ESP, and the finish on both sets is beautiful, right up there with even more expensive tuners. Some may not like the all black posts, but I actually like the contrast they give. Customer support from D'addario is great too. They make and distribute the Planet Waves tuners. I had a couple of questions and emailed their support. I got a response back within a day and my answers. Oh, and one more cool feature of these tuners. The excess string gets cut automatically by the PW tuners. It really does work. The first time I tried to use the tuners I bent the strings up 90 degree's like I always do and then I cut them manually. Well, since I bent the strings up only 1 string got cut properly and another got cut mostly, the rest didn't get cut. I was like, WTF? After looking at the cutting mechanism I realized that I need to leave the strings alone. Do NOT bend them, leave them coming straight out from the tuner. That way, as you turn the tuner to tighten the string, the string comes into contact with the cutting mechanism and cuts your strings one at a time. Works great. Feels odd at first as there is more force required to turn the tuner as the string hits the cutter. If you want stable tuning and smooooooth operation, and a high fine tune ratio, then get these tuners. I'm getting another set for my PRS semi hollow. And my '91 American Strat Plus Deluxe needs new tuners. The locking Schallers are a fantastic tuner, but they have gotten old. And that guitar has seen a LOT of use. I'm going back and forth between another set of Schaller's to keep it original, or go with a set of PW's. Not sure yet. Get THESE! Review: Excellent product. I wanted to change out the factory tuners (which were good enough already) to gold so I chose these. They installed easily, they look wonderful, the locks perform exactly as they should and they help hold the guitar in tune wonderfully. The high E string and the B string do not always self trim but it is an easy thing to pull out the wire cutters and is not a significant enough matter to me to influence my five star rating.

Ormai è da anni che le monto su tutte le mie chitarre, sarò diventato pigro? Metti la corda, avviti, accordi e tac, la meccanica taglia la corda superflua, come non innamorarsene?

I am biased. Simply because I am using those tuners since some years already. I changed the original tuners to PW in all my guitars. I love the auto trim function. I love how they work and look (whenever it is chrome, gold or black). Usually they work smooth and precisely. Usually, because out of 13 sets I am using, 2 (two, zwei, duo) tuners are having the tendency to "jump" in some random position. Which is annoying as hell, and forces me to go back 1/4 of turn and retune. But still 13 x 6 = 78. and 2 out of 78 makes 2.5% ((2/78) *100) I will say - that is acceptable "pain", and still love those tuners. Honestly, with the auto trim function they shortening the time of guitar restringing by really huge amount of time.
