A high quality, respectable controller
This controller was recommended to me by a friend, who’s had his for a while now. I just finished setting it up and testing the functionality! I’d like to start by saying the packaging was sturdy as hell. I was a bit nervous since the Amazon box it came in was beat up, but the manufacturers packaging was pristine. Im very impressed!!! It’s clear to me that many precautions were taken to ensure the product arrived safely. The plastic faceplate feels very soft and smooth to the touch. The rubber grips will be great for sweaty gaming sessions, and the buttons are all beautifully responsive and springy. Bumpers and triggers feel amazing, too. The thumb sticks have this light resistance to them that feels really good, and the controller has some weight to it. It’s lighter than the elite series 2. The paddles will take some getting used to, they’re placed a bit awkwardly to me. It has a mute button built in!!! Oh, and the switches for the trigger locks feel very professional. I will update in 1 year or when this product develops stick drift, whichever comes first

Solid, durable, utilitarian.
I've had one in steel gray for three years and have only had minor problems. Very occasionally, one of the rear paddles might get stuck in an input loop, which is easily fixed by pressing all of the back paddles a few times to fix the issue. No stick drift after three years of hard use. As long as you don't drop it or abuse it then you can expect it to last for quite a while. I prefer setting the triggers to the click setting rather than the mushy stock trigger feel. For the back paddles, I just prefer to set the d pad to them so that I don't need to take my left thumb off the thumbstick to use it. I purchased it when it was more expensive, in the $230 range and I'm very happy with the purchase. Shop around, because it can be found for far cheaper if you check the right storefront.

Controller Broke, but even if it hadnt there are design flaws
I have a bit of an xbox controller addition. I own every Scuf (everyone of them has broken at some point), I also own the Elite series 2, and a Hex Gaming controller. My thoughts on the Scuf pro instinct are largely negative, but lets start with the pros. Pros: - Visually pleasing: I will admit the controller looks beautiful, like something a pro esports player would wield. Unfortunately, its the only good thing about it. Cons: - Breakable: Ive owned 3 iterations of scuf, everyone of them has broken at some point, 2 stick drifts, and the last generation controller got so hot that it melted the faceplate and obviusly ceased to function. And this one followed suit, the rb button caved in just some weeks into having it. I opted for money back. -Thoughtless design: The back paddle are piss. Plain and simple. the bottom ones are serviceable enough but its a chore to push the top ones in game accurate becuase you hate to push up at an angle. Hey scuf if you're reading this, whoevers idea that was should recieve a pink slip immediately. Its a step backwards compaired to previous models. - No innovation: There just isnt much this controller adds to any other version of itself. I guess they deserve a little credit for getting rid of the ridiculous mapping system of its predecessors (using a magnet on the back of the controller.) However its still not even almost as good as the mapping system on the hex, and even further front the Elite 2. Price: This is the most expensive non modded after market controller. And its the worst one. If you would like the advice of someone who spend way too much on controllers like an idiot, heres what I have to say. Get an Elite Series 2. The mapping system is excellent. Great build and feel, the paddles are placed pretty well. Im not going to lie, the Elite 2 will probably break on you at some point with a stick drift. But Microsofts Customer service is excellent. Ive sent back my elite twice for it, and each time I have a new controller at my door 3 days after sending it to their warehouse. Customer Service: Scufs customer service in my singular experience trying to contact them is a joke. They ended up straigh up ghosting me.

High quality
Controller feels very sturdy and well made. The back buttons which used to be paddles feel very nice and clicky unlike the prestige paddles which felt like they would break easily, which they did. I also was concerned with the placement of the back buttons feeling awkward and not in a natural spot where my fingers lay but it's perfect. Trigger adjustment can be made where's it's literally like a mouse click but I prefer not to use it like that because it just doesn't feel right to me. Nothing wrong with how they work, just my personal preference. The grip material feels great. The only negative thing I can say so far is I have a rechargeable battery pack I use for my regular Xbox controller that doesn't fit this controller. The back plate layout is not compatible. I'm going to be using a wired connection anyways but for someone who wants to use it wireless, you're going to need batteries, which it does come with. Mapping the back buttons couldn't be more easier. I'll be using this pretty heavy on warzone so it's going to get abused. I'll come back after a month or so and write if I encounter any issues. Very happy with it so far. UPDATE: The smaller back buttons are hard to use. The direction you have to push them at an angle. I also feel the D pad moving like it wants to shift when I press it sometimes, but never pops off. Other than that it's great. I'll come back and update if the controller malfunctions.

A Game-Changing Controller with Mixed Durability and Customer Service
I've been using the SCUF Instinct Pro Controller for my Xbox gaming sessions, and it's been a game-changer, enhancing my performance in both first-person and third-person shooters like Fortnite and Call of Duty. The addition of extra controls on the back has been invaluable, allowing me to keep my thumbs on the analog sticks while executing complex maneuvers seamlessly. However, the controller's durability leaves something to be desired. On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the sturdiest, I'd rate it a 6. While it's held up to regular use fairly well, I've encountered two significant issues. Firstly, the left stick developed severe drift after some time, despite my careful handling of the controller. Although customer service was excellent during my initial contact, the repair process was swift and efficient. Unfortunately, a year later, another problem arose when the back left button unexpectedly snapped. This time, my experience with customer service was disappointing. It took multiple requests and nearly two weeks to get a response. While the eventual assistance from Darian was helpful, I was frustrated to receive conflicting information about warranty coverage. Initially assured that the repair would be covered, I later received an unexpected invoice for $74, leaving me feeling misled and dissatisfied. Despite these setbacks, the controller itself remains top-notch, and I eagerly await the return of my repaired unit. Overall, while the SCUF Instinct Pro Controller has significantly improved my gaming experience, its durability issues and inconsistent customer service tarnish an otherwise stellar product.

Still a Champion in 2025
I’ve been using this controller since 2021 and it’s still going strong, demonstrating top-tier durability and build quality. The buttons feel tactile and responsive, giving me confidence with every press. The adaptive triggers are a game changer, especially in fast-paced FPS games, they elevate gameplay to a whole new level of precision. The color is sleek and stylish, offering a sharp aesthetic without being flashy. It feels incredibly comfortable in hand thanks to its ergonomic design, making long gaming sessions a breeze. I’ve used it seamlessly on both Xbox and PC with no compatibility issues, making it a versatile powerhouse controller. Five stars all day!

Great but pricy
So far so good 👍 No issues plays as it should. A little to pricy considering you don't get a case with it or anything. Nowhere near as much customization you would get out of a Series 2 controller, but the trigger locks on this one are slightly faster.

Best Controller, Significant Design Issue
I have purchased this controller twice (foreshadowing). I absolutely love it, the rear buttons are fantastic. The short throw setting on the triggers feels fantastic. The interchangeable sticks is a great feature for customizing the feel of the sticks. But as much as I love this controller, the stick drift is guaranteed to happen, and for the price of this device it is unjustifiable. I bought two of these, because I loved using the first so much I thought that getting stick drift within 8 months must have been me being unlucky. So I got #2. The same thing happened (8 months). I was motivated enough to to try and break into both of them and try to fix it myself, which was a messy process for my first time - and while I was able to temporarily fix one of the controllers by replacing a potentiometer, I ended up ruining the other controller in the process. I realize how common stick drift is, but with the growing availability of product solutions that entirely avoid it, and for the premium cost of this product - I can’t recommend this controller. It’s not fair to the consumer to pay such a steep price for a product that is guaranteed to fail. (Even though I love it). I hope they update this controller with Hall effect tech (or something to the same effect) in the future. I would consider buying it. Until then I will dismantle it and play russian roulette trying to keep fixing it every 8 months when the potentiometer wears out again. (If they made those sensors plug & play even that would be an upgrade)

BUYERS BEWARE
DO NOT BUY SCUFS. Do not buy this instinct pro, they are the biggest pieces of trash. I was hesitant to purchase because of their reputation but I thought I might give them the benefit of the doubt. NOPE. Came with stick drift out of the box, one of the back buttons don't work and the trigger stops are either defective or terrible by design. You cannot have a trigger finger with these things but the main problem was the back button not working STRAIGHT OUT OF THE BOX. Not worth the price at all. Returning.

The Ultimate Pro Controller – Worth Every Penny!
The SCUF Instinct Pro is hands down the best controller I’ve ever used! The build quality is top-notch, with a premium feel that enhances gameplay immediately. The remappable rear paddles are a game-changer, allowing for faster reactions without taking my thumbs off the sticks—perfect for competitive gaming. The instant triggers make shooting in FPS games feel incredibly responsive, almost like using a mouse click. The grip texture is another standout feature, keeping the controller comfortable and secure during long gaming sessions. Yes, it’s a premium-priced controller, but if you’re serious about gaming and want an edge over the competition, this is absolutely worth it. Highly recommended for any serious gamer!
