Repaired a discontinued light.
I ordered this after determining that the step down transformer was bad on our under cabinet lighting. The lighting that was there is no longer made and unavailable. Since I did not want to replace all of them, I took the light apart and did troubleshooting to determine the bad small ballast that transforms 120 volts AC down to 12 volts AC. For rewiring Black is the Hot wire (120 volts) and White is Netrual wire (120 volts). The 2 Red wires are not polarity sensitive and connect to the wires going to the light 12 volts AC. I mention this as I read that a reviewer wired it backwards. There is a 1 second delay when turning on, but my light is working again. Great fix!

Works great, needs directions
This product works great once you get the wiring right. It is important to have the black a white wires connected to the correct wires of the power input. I initially had them reversed. Directions would have been a great help.

Perfect after one defective part
I went through a lot of these transformers on Amazon for my pendant lighting and found this one is the best. I had to return one but the next one I got worked perfectly. This one by far has the best over current protection and keeps any heat issues contained inside the box rather then igniting and melting outside itself. Some of the other transformers like it had that issue. Great dimming capability and should last a couple years plus once finally installed and running.

Don't buy, These things are JUNK!
Failed in less than 2 hours on 120V(input) X 12V(output) 18Watt Halogen brick light. Very poor quality.
