Very comfortable
5'-7" 165 LB and the SM/M fits perfect. Very comfortable and easy to adjust. I can have this thing on all day with no problem. My one complaint about it is that the leg buckles do clink and clack when walking even after they are buckled together. So if you are trying to sneak in to your stand I would suggest walking VERY softly or finding a way to tape them so they don't make noise. The noise is not enough for me to return the harness but it is something people should be aware of. Also the leg buckles are exposed when sitting so if you keep your bow in your lap or you rattling antlers in your lap you may accidentally hit the buckle creating a little noise. It has not been an issue for me put I guess it could be a possibility but a slim one. Other than that the harness is great. Very affordable, comfortable and well made. It should last for many years to come.

Overall its a great harness. The padding is soft and makes it ...
Couldn't find my harness so I had to go and get a new one. This one is a bit heavier than the one I had and very similar in terms of the buckles. Overall its a great harness. The padding is soft and makes it completely comfortable. It also is super easy to put on - just jump in with two legs and good to go. The notable feature is the deer drag attachment and the secondary line that is where your tail bone is located. so this allows you to use your whole body to drag the deer. the buckles are indeed great - quiet, easy to clip on and they really minimize the noise and time to get it set right. *sizing* I'm 5'10 and a fit 180 pounds - wait is 34/32 and chest around 39/40. The wait is fine (one person commented it seemed about a 36 waist which seems about right. Length wise no problem. Waist wise no problem. the only issue I found is the chest. It is just right with just a shirt but i probably couldn't put it over a heavy coat. so that is an issue. I'd say that it's maybe a size 40 chest. So S/M is tight if you're 36 waist ad above or size 40 and above chest. I'd suggest that size 38 if you want a coat is probably max.

Hunt Smarter & Safer
Harness is used for hunting white-tailed deer from a tree stand. For forty + years I climbed trees in about any way imaginable. Harnesses weren't 'a thing' (when dinosaurs roamed the earth). A few slips, trips, and 'emergency jumps' (tree stand broke from under me) happened along the way. In 2016 a friend fell and is never walking again. Suddenly a harness seemed like a VERY good idea. The harnesses sold with tree stands meet the legal requirements but are ridiculously difficult to use, unergonomic, heavy, bulky, etc... The HSS X-1 needs an initial adjustment and you're good to go. Three "clicks" and it's on. There is NO downside to using one. The peace of mind while wearing is priceless. The HSS X-1 is the best!

Need better size options
I have an XL/2XL that needed to be replaced due to age. Along with age, it's never quite fit me (female) correctly and is too long in the torso. At 5'7" with all the straps shortened, there's about 2" of slop in the length if I dont wear all my winter layers. I bought a women's style of HSS and hate it even though it fits better (too much unnecessary fluff for hunting). I bought the smaller men's size hoping that would solve the slop issue in the length and it fits perfect... if I let all the straps out all the way and put it on over pajama pants and a t-shirt; it's not fitting over hunting clothes. I don't know what size men the medium is designed for but it must be for someone about 5'0" with stick thin legs. Quality wise the HSS harnesses are great but I finally ended up with a Muddy because it fits correctly with any clothing choice and minimal effort.

but has padding where you need it and nice quick detach buckles across your abdomen
The price was right on point, it doubles as a safety harness and deer drag. The harness is basic, but has padding where you need it and nice quick detach buckles across your abdomen, and your thighs. Easy to put on and climb up safely to your tree stand. It comes with a safety manual and instructional DVD so if you have any questions or concerns it should be covered. I am 5'9'' 180 lbs with a small gut, I purchased the Small/ Medium and fully extended it fits great with layered clothing. If you plan on hunting with large bulky or prefer the extra room then I highly suggest you go ahead and get the large. I am overall happy with this purchase, It gets the job done at the right price. Pros: 1. Nice quick detach buckles 2. light and padded 3. Great price 4. Instructional DVD and manual 5. Dual purpose Tree stand safety harness/ deer drag Cons: 1. Can use some padding around the thigh and crotch. 2. Gets in the way of being able to access my pockets

It's about time. A quality harness system at a price regular people can afford to pay.
I was looking for a light weight and SIMPLE harness system. Is it to much to ask that I not have to take an advanced course in theoretical webbing weaving just to strap into a harness so I don't fall out of a tree? No, it's not. And this product proves it. Slip it on--the shoulder/back webbing makes it obvious--snap the waist, snap the legs, adjust the waist and leg straps to fit and your done. Remove it by unsnapping the three easy buckles and slipping it off. It's about time. I've personally used this several days this deer season. And it is wonderful. The harness strap that clips into the tree strap is actually long enough to allow me to sit, stand, peek around the corner of the tree and reposition to take a peripheral shot. This comes with a deer drag strap and a loop on the back of the harness to attach it. That works too--150 lb. buck up a 12 ft embankment and 100 yards through woods and a meadow. Couple this with the price and you really can't go wrong.

Must have harness!
I've only sat in the tree 4 times with this harness, thankfully haven't needed it to save my life yet. I will say from taking it out of the package and putting it on over my lighter hunting layers it is very comfortable. It has everything you need in a harness and it has the best price for a good harness. I've know plenty of hunters who trust hss harnesses so thought I would try it out. My last harness was a Big Game harness and it was fine but the buckles were plastic and one broke. This one has a great price also it is made of very high quality material. The buckles are metal and seem very strong. I only weigh 160 and I'm 6' tall but the harness fits perfect. I will recommend this harness to anyone even though I haven't used it too much so far.

Perfect harness for staying safe and comfortable
Great harness. Been hunting since I was 10 and never used a harness. I got one that came with a tree stand and it was a piece of junk. I researched and found this one and couldnโt be happier. It is easy to get on and off. The buckles are really nice and make it very convenient to set up prior to going out in the woods. It is very comfortable to wear, I didnโt realize I had it on after I got in the tree. At this price point and quality there really is no reason not to have one and use it.
