Excellent Air fryer. Happy with my purchase.
Perfect size and I love that it has the light so you can see inside and itโs easy to clean and easy to figure out how to use vs another brand I had. Great price the day I bought it Now I can actually eat better lol so to speak

Lives Up to the Hype โ Glad I Bought It
I picked up the Instant Pot Vortex Plus 6QT after seeing it rated as Americaโs Test Kitchenโs top air fryer, and honestly, it has not disappointed. Itโs simple to use, which is exactly what I wanted. It heats up fast, and I love that it tells you when to add the food, when to flip it, and when it finishes cooking. All I really have to do is choose the setting and set the time. Cleanup is easy, too. Most of the time the basket washes up quickly, and if Iโm cooking something messy, I just use an air fryer liner and itโs a breeze. There are so many air fryers out there that itโs hard to know which one to trust, but Iโm glad I went with this one. The quality is great, the price was fair, and it just works the way you want it to.

Best Air Fryer
The best air fryer in my opinion. It has the widest tray and holds plenty of food. I've had one before for almost 2 years before it shorted out and stopped working completely. It did a really good job with all ingredients used. I like the window and light so I can check progress. Instant Pot brand is a reliable and popular source. The tray and grill together are fairly heavy but manageable. I have ordered the second one since the 1 year warranty had expired.

I should have bought this years ago.
I did a fair amount of comparing features and reviews, this is the air fryer I chose. After using it for a month now, I'm really glad I did, Im very happy with this 6qt air fryer. I did not want a "combo" unit that air fries, toasts, bakes, etc - combo units always have compromises engineered into them so that all the features work. I specifically wanted a dedicated air fryer. The instant pot vortex plus did not disappoint, it works great! Even though we just cook for the 2 of us Im glad I got the 6 qt, no problem fitting 2 NY strip steaks. Or enough fries that we dont have to cook a second batch. Im also glad I chose to "upgrade" to the model with the clear window so I can see whats going on. I mean... you have a window and light on your wall oven, and you use it, right? Nice modern sleek looking machine. Controls are pathetically simple and intuitive to use.

Looks modern and sleek, compact yet roomy inside, a pleasure to operate, cooks perfectly
I just love it! Adding an air fryer 4 years ago, a $25 after coupon Bella with manual controls, was a life changer, for french fries, of course, but also croquettes, dumplings, pancakes, chicken wings, shrimp, all kinds of stuff. Alas, the timer stopped working, we timed it manually for a few months but decided to take advantage of Black Friday deals. What an upgrade! I agonized between the Instant Pot 4Qt and 6Qt versions, fearing the 6Qt would be too big, but I'm so glad we went with the bigger one. See pictures, it still fits perfectly atop the microwave with room to unload stuff, and it seems to be bigger inside than outside, easily twice the cooking area of our old 4Qt unit for may be 20% more footprint. Battered fish and sweet potato fries for 4 came out deliciously crunchy yet moist inside, very evenly cooked across the whole surface, dumplings and pancakes also evenly cooked and crunchy on the edges as should be. Seems to take less time than our older one, pre-heat + 5-6 minutes instead of 15 minutes (1700 watts, better than the usual 1500 watts, a bigger difference in practice than I thought). The soft touch controls are done right, just a light touch in the general area gets a soft beep and it activates. Starting an air fryer program requires first to touch anywhere for the controls to light up, then touch the Air Fryer rectangle, optionally touch the time/temp and turn the knob to set either or both, or directly touch start if the last settings are already what you want. It does a soft chime when pre-heat is done in case you want to add food only after pre-heat, and another one 2-3 minutes before the end in case you want to turn the food for more even crunchiness - we never had to, it works fine just putting the food in and running it. The front window is a big benefit, especially with the soft touch switch and the automatic on/off when you put the tray in or pull it out. The whole things just feels luxurious, with the smooth top with only the Instant Pot logo and the knob. I chose it black to match my appliances, don't know how the other colors would look. Also very quiet, a bit quieter than our main convection oven, much quieter than the dishwasher and the old air fryer. I did as other reviewer did, hand washed the tray then ran it in the patio for 15 minutes empty the first time to get rid of factory chemicals, and never had objectionable smell after I set it in the kitchen. Haven't seen any downside yet, but I just got it and used it for a week.

2.5 year review
I've had air fryers with dual baskets, one that attaches to a pressure cooker, and two that double as toaster ovens. The Instant Pot Vortex Plus 6QT ClearCook Air Fryer is by far my favorite. The basket is the perfect size to feed my family of four, it's easy to clean (especially if you use liners), and it cooks more consistantly than any other air fryer I've owned. It looks sleek, no more bulky than any other model, and the see-thru window is an added bonus. It's not without its flaws though. One line on the digital screen has burned out at the two year mark, and it cooks so efficiently that you have to modify cooking instructions on packaged products. We've found that 360 is the perfect setting to cook nearly everything, and simply modify the time between 6 and 10 minutes.

Update #2: After several months of use the fryer has proven to be a winner. Happy I bought it.
A new update. Although I'm still not crazy about the shiny black, easily scratched, surface I am very happy with the fryer otherwise. The fan rattle went away and the thing works like a charm. I have had no issues at all after initial break-in. Cooks great, I love it, and I believe you will as well. Update. After using it a couple of days I have increased the rating to 3 stars. The fan still rattles now and then, usually only when hot now. I have updated because the thing cooks fantastic. I dont really notice much difference in cook time really, maybe a couple minutes plus a few more due to a shorter preheat time, but it just seems easier and I dont have to heat up the kitchen. Clean up is a breeze and unlike my old old fryer, no choking cloud of smoke. original post: I was told, "Buy a Ninja", I bought the Instant Pot instead. My life story... Number one, the fan rattles. Seems to get a little better after heating up but still rattles. Very strong plastic odor. I finally heated some vinegar in it which did seem to help with that. I thought it had filters. I discovered after the fact that there are 2 models of the same unit. One with & one without. This one is without. The shiny black top is a disaster waiting to happen. Fingerprints, and pretty much everything else, is drawn to it like a magnet and it is impossible to clean without leaving streaks. Wiping it with a paper towel scratched it. Wiped it with a new damp paper towel and scratched it more. Rubbed the scratch with my finger and scratched it even more. Thinking it had filters I ordered I ordered spare filters for it. When I received the unit and discovered it had no filters I tried to cancel the filters but could not. Fortunately, I am always home and I was able to refuse them on delivery. I would have packed it back up and shipped it back but the woman of the house had already broken up and discarded the packaging, per my agreement. My bad, again. I haven't cooked anything yet, other than a cup of vinegar, so I cannot comment on that, but, I don't have very high expectations. I just tried running it again and the fan isnt rattling now so, IDK, maybe it's a "thing" they do. I guess time will tell. If it dies before the return window closes I'll pack it up and ship it back and request a refund.

Excellent buy. Great product. Updated review.
Updated review. After almost two months of near daily use the below still applies. One issue has come up. The bottom plate no longer stays secured allowing plate to fall out if tipped to empty the contents. Not something that should happen when a hot plate and fries are involved. Very pleased. Cooks quickly and evenly. Chicken thighs, fries and veggies perfectly cooked. This evening I prepared a frozen 9โ flatbread pizza. Turned the pizza diagonally to fit. Ready in 6 minutes at 400f. Oh, I got rid of my toaster oven and four slice toaster in the bargain!

Fantastic Air Fryer!
Game changer! I didn't know what I was missing until I purchased this. Cooks food so fast, chicken wings and fries are so crispy and so fast. All the fat from the chicken wings falls through the grate, leaving the wings crispy but not fatty. Makes the best grilled cheese sandwiches. Fish and veggies perfect. Haven't tried steak or chops yet but I will. Very easy clean, dishwasher safe but I wash by hand in the sink, everything cleans up easy due to the coating, no scrubbing. I can't say enough about this air fryer, I love it.

Awesome
Works great, cooks even better. Solid product from a solid, reputable brand. Took it out of the box, washed everything down, preheated the unit and cooked a meal. Have also used it to make homemade tortilla chips, chicken cordon bleu, pizzas, homemade mozza sticks... The possibilities with this appliance are innumerable. Highly recommended. Just be aware that pricing on these units wildly fluctuates...

Great looking multi-tasker that's easy to use and clean
This air fryer is simple to use, easy to clean, and has a large basket with a light so you can see whats happening. It can air fry, roast, bake, reheat, broil, and dehydrate. So far, I have only used the air fry setting. The appliance is light weight for moving, and has a clean, sleek look in all black. A negative is that It doesn't come with a good manual or instructions on how to use it. I also bought from Amazon, the Instant Vortex Air Fryer Cookbook 2023 by Anna Connor, which is a good source for use and recipe ideas. You can download the User Manual from the Instantpot.com website

Ease of use, easy clean up, great taste
I gave a 4 star rating only because I have only used the air fryer so far. It works nicely and love the light up window so I can see the progress of the cooking. It is a big unit and I have limited counter space. Fortunately for me it fit into one of my cabinets. Heats up and cooks fast with little oil. Foods taste great. I wish, for the price of this unit, that a complete cooking guide be included. After using Google with so many varied responses I bought the quick temperature guide magnets.

Worth the price and counter space!
I've had the Instant Vortex Plus 6 qt. Air Fryer for a few weeks now and I must say that for the most part it does what it advertises. And does it pretty well. It does not, however (and for the best), make store bought fish sticks taste good like a deep fryer does :) So far my favorite use is to re-heat pizza. For this it works incredibly well. Crust turns toasty and crisp, toppings heat through, it's just great. Second best are those frozen potato patties. Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside - and no extra oil! (they have plenty on them to begin with). The third thing it's great for is cooking sausage. Pan cooking a sausage is always an exercise in futility. Do you pan roast with the lid on? Lid off? Add water and boil with no lid or steam with the lid? Combination? Pre-Air Fryer I'd do the combination of steam and roast - but it took a long time and without cutting the sausage in half I could never tell if the center was cooked. The touch test you use to tell if a steak is done does not work on sausage. Air fryer - bang! 15 minutes and it's done! Cooked through, but still juicy. And in the time it's cooking I can get the plate set up and the sauerkraut out of the jar. I used the dehydrate feature once - it took quite a while and the end result was just 'ok'. I'll reserve thoughts until I've experimented with other items, but I don't think this option should be a reason to buy. America's Test Kitchen said this is the one they recommend (well, the prior version of this model was). They also said that it was one of the least noisy of the bunch. I'm certainly glad, because this one sounds like a 747 taking off! What do the loud ones sound like? :o America's Test Kitchen isn't my favorite place for recipes because they like to present ethnic foods that they've totally changed with ingredient substitutions, even though most people can get things from Amazon, but I've found their equipment reviews to be pretty spot-on. I am a little concerned about the control panel - the dial seems to be cheap and a little wobbly. I would have thought that the one moving part (other than the fan) would have been of better quality. But I'll just treat it nicely and maybe it'll continue to live long and prosper.
