How comfortable is this under the arms? The ones I've tried so far have been too bulky under my armpits and have really dug in.

I found this posture corrector very comfortable. With the velcro straps you can adjust it to suit you. I would recommend this item

I have very narrow shoulders, would it still work please ?

It does help. Get used to keep posture straight. I bought smaller size & the seller was kind enough to exchange it. Please try the small size & see if suitable or not. Please remember It takes few days to adjust.

Can you wear this under the clothing? Or is it noticeable? ie.bumpy

I am 5'2", 49kg and my under bust circumference is 70-72. is s-m going to be too big for me - i guess i'll have to pull the straps to the limit?

I assume you mean 70cm? Which is about 27inches. So S/M should fit ok. I'm 30inches under bust. The arm/shoulder straps shouldn't be too affected by being on the smaller end of the sizing you just might find the underbust velcro strap might be long. It's fine, it's all velcro so it sticks to itself but you might just have a little end that pokes down where the piece underneath is abit long. It should not affect use as it is velcro and you are within the sizing for the s/m sized one.
