## Description

A very efficient, compact, sharpening stone. The DC4 is made by Fallkniven, who produce a serious range of knives and sharpening kit. The DC4 stone is a diamond/ceramic sharpening stone designed to be carried with you in the field within its leather carrying pouch. The diamond side comes in at 25 micron and the specially designed ceramic is made from synthetic saphire, enabling you to get a "shave sharp" edge on your knife. These materials performance actually improves with use and the stone will hold its shape which is vital for sharpening well. We also like these stones as they can be used dry with no other form of lubrication, which makes them an efficient field stone. To sharpen your knife you can use a circular motion or a straight forward slicing motion, they come with full instructions. Size = 10cm x 3cm x 7mm Advantages: No lubrication is required, they are cheap, they can put a shave sharp edge on your knife, they are pocket sized, light, and we like the pouch it comes with to protect it

C’est l’outil indispensable des voyages, vacances où que vous alliez il y a toujours une lame à affûter même chez des amis ! Si vous attendez un fini parfait, prévoyez une pierre avec un grain plus fin. Mais encore une fois pour équiper le sac du baroudeur c’est nickel.

Compact sharpener that does the job. Recommend priming the synthetic sapphire side with some wet and dry first. Took a bit of practice (due to my ham fisted inability to judge the angle of the knife to stone and replicate it on each stroke) but after a couple of days I got the hang of it and then went on a sharpening mission... EDC knives, kitchen knives, long forgotten pen knives in my fishing kit...all became sharp enough to denude my forearms of hair...oh and with a bit of care can use the leather case edging as a leather strop. May not quite match the Japanese whet stones for finish, but then you don't have to sell your Granny to afford it. Happy with this easy carry little sharpener.
