I lost mine! It was probably 50 years old and the new one looks exactly the same. This is an essential item for ANYONE who wears sweaters. It's so simple to use, and can save your garment in a few seconds. Obviously, if the snag results in a break to the yarn you will want not only to pull the yarn to the back of the garment, but secure it so it does not unravel. If your garment is woolen you might want to get pro help at a dry cleaner, as those who work doing mending there typically have magic hands with snags on tweed jackets, sweaters, etc. But for your average snag, this is perfect. You gently use the device to pull the loop back to the reverse side, while you gently help the adjacent knitting release the strain from the snag. I've also used it on sewing projects that I have made or things acquired where there's threads that got caught up and are on the wrong side at a seam. You can gently pull them to the rear with the delicate hook and closure. this and a nifty defuzzer and you're set to care for your woolens and other fiber knits forever.

Saved a few sweaters

Perfect, just what I needed to repair some snags on a few sweaters. That is needed for anyone with cats.

Works great. I had lost mine that was identical to the one ordered.

Ohhhh, I was so mad. I was using this to tuck in serger tails and it took SO MUCH force to get the tails threaded. At one point I pulled so hard that the metal part came unglued from the handle. As the metal piece dislodged itself, the hardened glue around the edges sliced the skin of two of my fingers. Ouch! I put it away and begrudgingly went back to the old needle method. Then one day after my skin had healed I tried it again. And had an epiphany... I needed to hook just the end of the tails to the hook so that it can be pulled cleanly through. Please don't make the mistake I made and think that you'll be able to slide the thread through by brute force!

It isn't as big as I expected it to be, but it's exactly what I wanted. Thank you.
