Work well and improved ride quality. Like all struts, a real pain to install.

These are an easy replacement for the original struts on my 04 Lincoln town car. I find that the ride is on the firm side, and I wish the dampening was a little bit more, as there's still a little too much rebound over bumps. Way better than my old worn out ones though.

Worked great for Lincoln Towncar 2009. Sets perfectly balanced and love the ride. Much easier to do the job with them already to go.

Good quality fit just right easy installation

I was expecting to have to compress the springs to remove the old worn struts from my 2005 Town Car. Thankfully, that is not necessary to install these - much safer! These are certainly more difficult to install that shocks. It requires removal of the prior strut, brake caliper and rotor, disassembly of the upper ball joint, tie rod end, and lower the lower control arm to clear the strut out of and into the assembly. It's critical to use proper torque settings and set the torques with the jack lifting the lower control arm as though the car weight is sitting on the front wheels. This prevents binding of the bushings. The ride is good as or better than new!

Update: After having put a couple thousand miles on these struts w/springs, I found the following: Height of front settled and is now about where it should be. Springs and shocks/struts are much softer than original with handling package option. To keep original suspension characteristics, do not change springs and realize that you will have to use pricey shocks from Ford that specifically fit your vehicle VIN. This is a "one size fits all" solution for Crown Vic's and Grand Marquis'. These vehicles have multiple suspension options (regular, handling package, police, etc.) with different spring height, spring stiffness, and shock strut valving. Placing these strut assemblies on my Grand Marquis that has the handling package has raised the front end more than an inch and the spring rate is a bit softer than original. That said, the softer ride welcome at my age but I still need to lower my headlights a tad so I don't blind oncoming drivers. By the way, before purchasing these strut assemblies, Monroe phone support personnel said there is no difference in spring height indicating that they don't have a good understanding of product application. On a positive note, I using the assembly rather than strut alone is a help to the mechanic.
