I am guessing this should work ok for a single cartridge undermount filter ie not reverse osmosis? i am guessing a faucet is a faucet..... thanks!

yes it will work it comes with the water line connections for a 3/8 or a 1/4 in tubing water in and out of the filter then straight to the faucet

Can this work with a GE Smartwater system?

I would assume so. We have a water filtration system along with an RO system & they work together. So our kitchen sink has two faucets, one that the water is filtered through our water filtration system & then this faucet that is connected to our RO system.

Is there any brass, bronze or copper in contact with the water?

Why does the material also say: No-Lead Brass Body The faucet body is made from premium grade no-lead BRASS (with less than 0.25% lead content), complied with NSF/AB1953 lead-free regulation, and safe for drinking water.
