When put on the Pro-Cell mode. Works just as advertised. I didn't even install the lights like how it says to install them. I just kinda connected them and left them like that, but they still worked as intended. At sunset, they turn on, and at sunrise they turn off. So convenient from having to manually connect them. Will definitely order more for Christmas.

UPDATED REVIEW I wanted to update my original review, in which I left this product a one-star review (my original review is below). After leaving that original review, the product manufacturer reached out to me here on Amazon. The manufacturer is awesome and very responsive! To try to make things right, the manufacturer sent me a replacement Photocell Light Sensor since my return window with Amazon had closed. The replacement works perfectly and as designed. It is exactly what I needed. The manufacturer gets an A+ and the customer service reps, Sally, Darren, and Steven, were outstanding. Given the excellent customer service and great quality of the replacement photosensor outlet, I believe this deserves a five-star review. ORIGINAL REVIEW (below) I received delivery of this timer the first week of January 2022, and it sat unopened on my desk until about two weeks ago (mid-May 2022). I opened the box and plugged it in outside to automatically turn on exterior string lights on my patio, setting the dial to come on at dusk and stay on for 2 hours. It worked great for the first few days, but then it stopped working. It does turn the lights on at dusk, but it does not turn them off after 2 hours; rather, it keeps them on all night, despite being set for only 2 hours of operation. I noticed that it stopped working correctly after we had rain, which means it is not weatherproof as the product says. Unfortunately, I can no longer return this item because I waited too long to use it, and I'm past the return window. Given the fact that it stopped working after only 2 weeks, I would not recommend this item to anyone. It does not seem weatherproof. WASTE OF MONEY!

This made setting up and enjoying my Christmas lights easy and low maintenance. They come on when it's dark out and go off after 4 hours or six hours. The other option is for them to come on in the dark and go off in the light. I like the timer feature. Its quiet. Had a low profile in the outdoor outlet and plenty of receptacles for my lights.

Bought this turn my porch lights on and off. So far working really well. The only issue I've had is that the timer needs to be placed under my porch chair out of direct light or it will not turn on at night because I have it on the auto on\off mode. Once I moved it under the chair I guess it registers dark better and the lights came on and so far come on every night and go off during the morning. Happy with purchase.

I want to say first off that I apparently lack patience. I purchased this for the photo sensor's ability to turn on and off dusk to dawn. I set that and waited for it to turn on (dusk) but, Nothing! I moved it here and there to see if that worked. Nope. Then I read a review that said it does NOT turn on IMMEDIATELY. So I tried again and took a seat. It took maybe 30 seconds , maybe 40 seconds to come on. Works perfect for my patio lights. So glad I realized that my perception of time vs the reality of time don't mesh.

My husband purchased this timer so that we can illuminate our US flag from dawn to dusk. Timer is easy to use and works as expected. Good quality - worth the money.

I use these for my lights on my back deck and they're great does a great job turns them on turns them off I can trust them how long I want them on or when I want to turn them off. Easy to do
