My son wanted a simple battery alarm clock and after much research this one seemed the best bet. Here are this things we like about it. First of all, I wouldn't have minded if it were bigger, but its petite size does mean it has a small footprint on a bedside table and it works for him. For me the clock's best feature is that the controls are easily accessible and setable. They are all well marked and on the front unlike many bedside clocks which are inconvenient to set and don't even have an easy way to turn off the alarm once it's sounded. On this little clock, the longish bar visible on the front acts as a snooze feature when the alarm has sounded and also lights up the display so you can easily see the time in the dark. Even if the alarm isn't set or hours from sounding off, the bar lights up the display. I never was able to find a battery operated clock with a perpetually illuminated dial because of the drain on battery power, so it was important to find one where you could turn the light on easily when needed. The buttons for setting the time and alarm, and activating the alarm are easy to read and intuitive in function. Once the time is set, that switch can be moved to a stable position where touching it accidentally in the dark will not mess up your settings. All in all, this small clock offers all the features needed to make it easy to use and fully functional.

When my beloved LL Bean travel alarm clock finally broke, I was so disappointed to learn they no longer made it and the replacement got bad reviews on their site. So I bought several small clocks from Amazon and this is the winner. I wanted a small, lightweight digital clock without a lighted screen to keep me awake. It had to be easy to set--no atomic clocks or fancy extras. No hard to find batteries. Just the basics--time and alarm--and completely reliable--and dark at night. This clock does all those things and is perfect for my needs. I use it at home by the bedside as well. The tap bar to light it up to see the time is large and easy to use. You can't miss it no matter how asleep you are. And it weighs almost nothing so it's perfect for airline weight restrictions. It uses 2 AA batteries, nothing expensive or hard to find or install. And you can't beat the price. June 10, 2018--The first is still great--I don't think I have ever replaced the batteries. I bought a second--one for home, one with my travel gear. Very happy with this clock. September 2024–A problem has developed. I have now bought six of these. The last couple have partly lost the number display after two years. I have to guess the numbers. Changing batteries doesn’t help. I just bought a new one. Would like to remove a star but don’t see how.

I like it, great size and easy to read and set. One downfall is you can't easily read it in the dark. When you press the button to read it in the dark, it's way too bright. Nukes your eyes out in the dark. Should be a subdued lighting so you can check the time without lighting the whole room and disturbing your partner.

My sister gave me this clock for my 16th birthday. Twenty years later, it finally stopped working. I think I may have only changed the batteries 3 times. I have been through many other clocks during the time I have had this clock, and this clock remains my favorite. Small, travels easily, reliable. The alarm is perfect: loud enough to wake me up, not so loud that it scares me. I also enjoy the small light used to view the time in the dark. Many times I have used the light from the clock as a flashlight. Buy this clock, you will not regret it! 7/16/12 - Update. I received my new clock and was disappointed by two things: 1) The colon between the hours and the minutes blinks. I have a feeling this will drive me crazy if I am in the same room with the clock and see it blinking out of the corner of my eye. 2) The alarm is much louder and not as gentle. I really, really liked my clock from 1992 because of the soft, but effective alarm. Here's some great news, though: for some reason, I decided to try putting batteries into the old clock and it works again! I don't know why it seemed to stop working before, but I'm hoping that the 1992 clock continues to work. I'll rest easier knowing that I have a back-up!

Quality clock. Good price. Had an old Wesclox travel alarm clock. It was many years old and time for a new one. I decided to get the same brand because of the quality.

I used to rely on this clock 100% but I purchased two from Amazon one in black and one in white and they both stopped working. This had been in prio times the very best and easiest clock to keep by my bedside and take with me when I traveled, but now I cannot trust buying it again.

I had this alarm clock for years, and it never stopped working. It actually went missing when I lost a bag during a flight in 2017. So when I needed to get another alarm clock (let's be honest, as useful as phone alarms are, they just aren't the same), I scoured Amazon until I found someone selling this exact model. And I couldn't be happier! It's incredibly straight forward and easy to use, the numbers are big and clear, and the snooze/light button perfectly illuminates the time without being too jarring to tired eyes. I honestly have no complaints about this alarm clock, it's lightweight and easy to use, and I hope they never stop making it. It takes two AAA batteries that don't come included, but it's not a big deal to me for this price. The batteries last a long time. I think the thing I like the most (and some people may dislike) is that when the alarm goes off, the snooze button will continue to snooze the alarm as many times as you want to, making it so you can't accidentally turn the alarm off in your sleep and wake up late for work (a problem I often have relying on my phone to wake me up). With this clock, you have to flick the alarm off with the switch to make it stop. I can see this being an issue if you forget to turn it back on again, but I find it easy to flick the switch off and on when I turn the alarm off. I much prefer that than my phone alarm, which will stop going off after I've pressed snooze a couple times. If you're like me in that you're not a morning person and have trouble waking up, and need something portable and persistent that won't let you down, then this little alarm clock is perfect for you too.

Westclox has been a good name in time pieces for a long time. It is positioned close by when I sleep so I can check time when I want. Good buy.

I already had one of these clocks an it lasted me 20years then when I retired it lasted my daughter 10years so no brainer buying another

This is a great little clock. I have used one in the bathroom for decades and it just goes on and on, still keeping time even in that damp environment and after its batteries have begun to leak (so don't forget to check them.) The numerals in daylight can be read from 12 feet away, and in the dark the dial lights up when you press the snooze button. I was delighted to find that Westclox still makes this little gem, so bought this one for the guest room.

This is the perfect alarm clock for me: not too loud, not too quiet; has a blue backlight, small and compact (can be used for travel)

I had an identical clock for twenty years and it finally stopped working. I couldn't imagine being without this great clock. It packs easily for travel and the Glo feature is great at night for checking the time. Would recommend this clock to everyone.

had an old westclox alarm that lasted for over 20 years until the LED failed. This one took a bit of finding but is perfect.Well pleased with product.
