Very strong and sturdy, and it’s great option for anti theft. The fit is great, and easy to use and set up. Definitely a good buy. I’ve bought multiple, they tend to last for several years.

This is a hefty lock that can provide enough deterrence to discourage theft for many uses. But, locks can always be defeated, and a padlock can only withstand just so much pounding before it fails. If I needed a secure lock for a remote location, I would go to a good locksmith and discuss the requirements before choosing a lock. For my use, my gym locker was broken into and my wallet stolen. I bought this for more secure storage. But, unfortunately, the hexagonal locking loop was too big, so I had to buy a medium security Master Lock from a local store for still-good security that would fit.

This lock was extremely easy to program, and the build quality really stands out. I ended up buying two—one to secure my shed door and another for my water-barrel storage cabinet—and both fit perfectly through the existing latches. The shackle is thick and solid enough that it would be very difficult—if not nearly impossible—for someone to cut through with a bolt cutter. The overall feel is heavy, durable, and well-made, and the design looks great as well. It’s the kind of lock that would make most would-be thieves think twice and move on. I’m very impressed and feel confident using it.

I go through about 2 of these a year to lock up my gates on my business. Love that you can easily set your own combination. Love that it's next to impossible for bad guys to get a bolt cutter to the shackle. These are outdoors in the weather in Oregon. They seem to seize up after about a year of every day use. Kind of expensive for that. But still worth the extra security.

As some others have noted, the lock can get stuck open in a situation where some or all the dials don't spin. This has happened to me twice with this lock. I researched what's going on and apparently an internal part called the hasp doesn't achieve the position it needs to be in. My lock is indoors and properly lubricated with Boeshield, and it still happens sometimes. I have fixed it by banging it on the concrete floor upside down and right side up, and I suppose the hasp slides into place and the wheels spin again, and the lock can be pressed closed. But it's definitely not the way you want the lock to be functioning. It's hard to find other brands of combination locks with the same attributes as this one, but I'm looking elsewhere, and this one is going in the garbage after a couple of months.

Master Lock quality, and you get to set your own combination. The cover over the number tumblers are helpful to keep out grit and dirt. Master Lock has clearly figured out how to build robust, quality locks and these ProSeries locks are no exception. Being able to set your own combination is a great feature so you can come up with numbers that your team can remember, plus you can change the combination when needed for security purposes.

Solid and work really well. Gives me a piece of mind. The combo is pretty smooth and pretty easy to set your own code.

Have been using this as my gym lock (overkill, I know - but as I got my laptop stolen, I'm done screwing around) - it fits with very little clearance left in the lock hole (about the width of a human hair), so its a perfect fit. You cannot move it around or yank on it very easily. It is incredibly heavy and rather intimidating looking. The brass armor shroud around it is incredibly sturdy and does a good job of making life difficult for anyone with a bolt cutter. The boron alloy shackle is also much higher quality than the standard locks you find on the shelves, with a very true metallic feel. The combination are definitely on the stiffer side - they will not easily glide like tiny padlocks. In 3 months, I have not experienced the "sticking" issue, but the tumblers definitely prefer to be turned one way, which is not really a big deal for me. It is important to note that the lock only opens one way, and the dials will get easier to move with use, but they are STIFF. Personally, I like it as it reinforces the whole tough look of the lock. The rubber bumper, which I presume is to keep the lock from scratching whatever it is rubbing against, is flimsy and I lost it on the third use. Again, not a big deal. No padlock is going to be a foolproof solution in the world of sledgehammers, shotguns, and bolt cutters - but this intimidating looking lock definitely fits the bill to help persuade a would-be thief to perhaps move onto an easier target - (or at least convince them that bringing giant bolt cutters to a gym is too risky).

Always waiting to write a review till I've had product for a while. I've had this on my outside shed for over a year. It has seen all the weather elements and is still working as I hoped. One recommendation I have for folks with locks that see the elements is to spray WD40--12/34 or some other lubricant down into the lock mechanism. Best is when you have the lock open and spray into the open hole where the locking arm goes into the lock itself. You wouldn't believe the difference this makes in keeping your lock working good and the tumblers turning easily. Folks should do this on a combination lock or a key lock.......
