Great value for a small safe. I researched several small safes and decided on this Blue Dot Second Amendment because of its one-hour fire rating and because it was available. Most quality safes had a 8-10 week lead time.

The electronic keypad is not secure. Hangs on screws so it can fall pretty easily. Expected better.

The positives: This safe is well made and roomy. The interior is fully carpeted and shelving can be adjusted to suit just about any needs. Although listed as a gun safe, we use for important documents and jewelry. It's heavy - over 230lbs empty! Electronic lock is easy to read and use - works flawlessly. The unit comes with 2 floor bolts. Good documentation except for comments below. Powder coat finish is excellent. Hinge and locking mechanism is well made. Product/Technical support is excellent and very helpful.The negatives: The documentation is good except for description of how to program the new lock codes. The master code section is all wrong and I needed to call support to reset the user code. It turns out the manufacturer keeps a record of the safe's master code and you must call them if you ever have a problem opening/programming the safe. There is no backup key - only technical support in event you can't get the safe open.The safe appears to be branded by many different companies so check prices before you purchase. As an example, I saw this safe as a Winchester brand in Costco for around $300. Shop around for best price.
