Perhaps very small size gravel would give you drainiage and be more stable thn these tiles, which i found moved sometimes when I walked on them. **Q: I want to put these by the back door, onto a wooden patio, so when it's ice or snow the dogs/I can go out safely. Do these ice up?** A: If it is icy outside, I'm sure they would ice up too. Mine didn't last long enough to find out, they broke up as I was screwing them to a wooden base. **Q: Every photo shows a completely different shade of green, which one is correct?** A: My set is dark green.
