works great. very fast
Starts up right out of the box. I did have to do a little tuning. Wasn't too impressed with the igniter that came with the car, so i bought a better one. I read some reviews that said the transmission is junk, or the engine is junk. I would have to disagree 100% I have run over a gallon of fuel through it. that equals hours and hours of runtime. I would suggest watching some videos about breaking in the engine and tuning the fuel mixture, if you want the same positive results as me. As far as the transmission goes, keep it clean, no lubrication is needed. Grease will only make the dirt stick. Don't hit jumps in 2nd gear or while it is shifting or you're asking for trouble. Even traxxas cars don't handle that very well. Anyhow I think it is a good beginner car for anyone who wants to try out the nitro hobby without forking out 500 .

Stay away!
Bought this as a Chrismas gift for my son. I'm a little rusty but I have plenty of experience with gas rc cars. It took me over 2 hrs to finally get this thing started but would instantly die. After 3 or 4 times of that it would never start again. I figured I would eventually get it but after getting sick for 3 weeks and then having surgery it was put on the back burner. Just brought the car to a hobby shop as they have a service tech that will work on these. Within 2 seconds of seeing the car they knew exactly what it was a said "I can spend two hours working on ot for you but it still won't run." Apparently these are known to the shops to be horrible. Can return it now as it's to late. We never got to drive it.

Surprized
Completely surprised that it cranked immediately ran fine and going through break in fine. I will write back if it dies and I don't rush break in and I use breakin oil.

Needed a little work!
Overall this has been a fun little car. I personally am experienced with nitro motors. And I did struggle to get the tuning set just to get the break-in process but once I got it to run, it runs great. Would recommend if you have some experience with Nitro RCs.

Does run..
I have many rc's and this is my first nitro. It only runs for 3-4 minutes tops out of the box. I did a break in period And then tuned it. After about 15 tanks of gas 2 gear stopped engaging but not a deal breaker. Tuned it hauls but. Will do dounuts easily on dry pavement. Over all it pretty cool. Got mined for $ 216

RC Car for Customization and DIY Repairs – Perfect for Mechanics
I’ve been wanting to buy this RC car for a while, and I finally worked up the courage to get it, with the plan to replace most parts with metal upgrades and heavily customize it. However, I quickly realized everything is low-quality—down to the motor, which is also cheap. The remote control is poor, and so are all the components. So before the car even arrived, I already ordered a new frame, skid plate, and replacement plastic parts for about $70. Honestly, I’m glad I did! About the RC: This car is very cheaply made. The motor is subpar, and everything from the components to the remote is low-quality. Getting this thing tuned took forever, and I immediately broke the starter cord. Fortunately, I have an impact wrench, so I now use that to start the engine—trying to start it with the stock cord is a nightmare. It’s so difficult to get going that you’d either break the cord or just get frustrated and give up. After spending 30 minutes or more tuning it, the engine ran for a while, but the fuel burns through extremely fast. It also leaks fuel from the tank vent into the exhaust if it gets shaken up. My fix was to reroute the vent hose back into the tank while leaving the cap slightly open, or just stock up on a lot of fuel. The only reason I’m putting up with this car is that I’m a mechanic and enjoy working on it. If I was just looking for an RC car to drive around for fun or to give to a kid, I would never recommend this. Save your time and money and go for a higher-quality model, or even an electric RC car. This one will cause a lot of frustration trying to get it to run smoothly. However, if you’re into rebuilding, fixing, or doing an electric conversion like I am, then go for it and have fun. The engine only costs around $50 for a new one from a Chinese website, and parts to rebuild it are only $15-$20, depending on what breaks. If I didn’t have an impact wrench to start the RC car I would give this a one star review and throw the RC car in the trash. Ps: first drive bolt fell off so tighten everything. Second drive I flipped it and lost more parts now I only have 2 wheel drive. 🤣🤣🤣. Ignore my boots I was putting pads on them and they needed to cure so I duct taped them for a couple hours.

Did Not Work
This my first review. Even though I read most reviews I was optimistic that it would work for me. This was my child's Xmas gift. I could not get the car to start. I was going to return it, but my child was so excited that I decided to keep it. I took it to a HobbyTown and it took almost 30 minutes for the tech to get the car started, he almost gave up. I had to pay $27.xx. The car worked fine four times (break-in) did not run the car. On the fifth time the throttle string broke. We did not not even get to drive it once :(
