It is in any way not waterproof. Not even one little bit. I decided to take it apart to look inside to find out why my esc stopped running. And this so what it looks like inside. Dust proof probably but not waterproof at all. ### ⭐⭐ 2.0 out of 5 stars 2S only, does not appear to be even moisture resistant, however I did receive a replacement. *by C***N on Reviewed in the United States on February 3, 2024* I purchased this ESC in mid December 2023 as a replacement for 2 GoolRC 80A "waterproof" ESCs that failed. This was the least expensive 80A ESC I could get next day, but I just needed something to text out a new build I had. Out of the box the ESC looked and functioned well. I had it in a 1:10 Volcano EPX Pro with a FlySky FS-GR3E receiver and a Spekrum 3300kv brushless motor, and only used it for some simple testing. The I installed it 1:10 Arrma Granite with the same receiver and a GoolRC 4300kv brushless motor. The ESC performed well initially for testing the Volcano and taking out the Granite, and the factory programming parameters seemed to work perfectly fine in my setup. Over the course of 2 weeks or so I usually took the Granite out using this ESC a few times a week for an hour or 2, and was pretty impressed for the money. Then, after 2 weeks I had an issue, I had the Granite out in the afternoon, which was cold and a bit foggy, damp, but not wet. There was a little moisture in the grass, but I was running in a huge open parking lot. I ran it hard for 10-15 minutes, some speed runs and donuts. After my first battery pack hit the cutoff I gave it about 10 minutes like usually do, swapped in a new pack and was running again. After af few minutes, I lost control of the truck, it didn't run away, I just had no throttle or steering. As a approached the truck I could smell burnt electrical, so I ripped off the shell and disconnected the battery. No smoke, nothing appeared burnt up and none of the components were "hot", the ESC and the motor warm, but not hot. Upon further inspection and testing in a safe environment where I could quickly quell any potential electrical fault results, I confirmed that the motor and receiver were both fine, battery voltage and output were normal and the ESC had no functionality, although the fan still worked stand-alone. Since it was the holidays, I didn't get around to addressing this until recently, but since I was still within the return window, Amazon sent me an advanced replacement with no charge, free replacement and return shipping (I received the replacement ESC in 2 days, I have 30 days to return the defective unit with the shipping label the provided, but I do have to take it to a local Staples to return ship, no big deal). After inspecting the ESC after failure, I will not trust the replacement in any type of wet environment until I seal it with electrical grease. The control boards are in a plastic case, sealed with 4 screws, but there's large open gaps with plenty of ingress points, the capacitors are external, connected by 2 wires, and are only protected by a layer or 2 of self bonded or heat shrink tape, and aren't completely wrapped, the non- inductor sides are left open, and lastly the power PCB board, battery and motor leads and the capacitor leads are all completely open to water and moisture, being mounted to the top of the controller board encasing, but with no casing themselves. One more thing to note as I saw a few reviews mentioning wanting to try or using 3s with this ESC, it is not compatible. The instructions and ad info clearly stated it is a 2S 5.3v ESC. If you use a 3s pack with it, bring a fire extinguisher. I'll update this review after I perform initial testing with the replacement and a long term opinion if it lasts.Update: 2-4-2024 Received, installed and tested replacement ESC, functioning properly, however, I have the motor leads color matched and unlike the first ESC, I had to switch Channel 2 to Reverse. After some frustration trying to trim, set exponential percentile, ABS and set the safe point, I realized that this ESC isn't compatible with a radio controlled ABS function.
