What an incredible tool set!!! I bought these for my son when he was learning to draw. He ended up switching to other hobbies as most kids do, so I didn’t want to waste the beautiful art supplies. It led me to start to look into learning to draw myself. It’s been over a year now, and I’m now sketching portraits. (Can’t believe im hearing myself say that out loud and knowing it’s true about me!) I’m seeing now the purpose of each pencil and love having a kit that brings to life what you’re trying to draw. The pencils have held up wonderfully! Sharpening doesn’t eat away at the available pencil left to work with. I definitely suggest this set for beginner or intermediate artist. Once I’m a pro, maybe I can come back and give my two cents from a professional perspective.

Best set of sketching/drawing pencils i own. Full range of hardness and shading. Works well with 3 darkest Matte pencils from Fabre-castell to serve every need you could possibly need. Much less expensive than “Blackwing” and feel the same to me.

These are the best drawing pencils I've bought so far. They are sturdy, and they don't get eaten up by the sharpener. I don't have to keep sharpening them after a few marks like others do. I like the way they draw. Very, very pleased. The price is good as well. Recommend.

With this set , you only pay for what you need and will actually use. Staedler Lumograph are on of the top graphite pencils. They have a great lay down. The pencil itself is a hexagon with the graphite grade printed clearly on each side making the individual pencils very easy to identify. The 12 set is the perfect mix of H and B leads. The range is extremely usable unlike many sets that include never used pencils, especially in the H range pencils. Will always purchase this set for my graphite drawing.

Best for fussy artists who don't want to guess which one they're holding so they can draw. Graphite doesn't wear down too fast, nor break, and let's one be as expressive as they want.
