I use it on a 2014 MPB, OS Catalina. Didn't need to do anything and it's always worked a treat. I did have to buy a USB 3 to USB C adapter because I have an older Mac. But that shouldn't be a problem with newer MacBooks, which all have thunderbolt inputs. ## Frequently Bought Together - Kingston XS2000 500GB External SSD USB 3.2 Gen 2 Portable Solid State Drive - SXS2000/500G - Crucial X9 1TB Portable External SSD - Up to 1050MB/s, External Solid State Drive, Works with PlayStation, Xbox, PC and Mac, USB-C 3.2 - CT1000X9SSD902 - SanDisk 2TB Extreme Portable SSD external drive, up to 1050 MB/s, read, 1,000MB/s write, external SSD, USB-C, solid state drive, IP65 rated for dust and water resistance, Black --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.dk/products/357544126-xs2000-500gb-external-ssd-usb-3-2-gen-2-portable](https://www.desertcart.dk/products/357544126-xs2000-500gb-external-ssd-usb-3-2-gen-2-portable) --- *Product available on Desertcart Denmark* *Store origin: DK* *Last updated: 2026-10-27*
