The black finish seem durable and matches the G17 slide. I used a rear sight tool for installation and the dovetail plate went in smoothly and firmly. The top adapter cradled the rounded edges of the top of the slide so the base cannot shift over time. The screws went in smoothly and I used blue Locktite to secure them. This fit my Vortex Venom Red Dot perfectly. Just starting to use this and will update later.
