I am restoring several old light fixtures (100 years old and never cleaned). I thought at first that it wasn't working on my what I thought were brass fixtures. They were just so horribly dirty and tarnished that I wasn't sure what I would find! First they turned black, then silver colored, then copper colored, and then finally brass! They were still dull, but polished right up with some Brasso (guess I could've used Flitz polish) and a buffing pad on my Dremel, without literally hours of scrubbing. I let some of the longer chains soak for a bit. Wish I could post a picture because it really is a miracle tarnish remover. Still need to polish, but this stuff worked great at cutting through the tarnish. There was one fixture that I gave up on when I thought the Flitz was too strong and ruining it and painted it. Now that I know better, I'm going to take the paint off and return it to its original luster. Just ordered two more bottles! **Q: Is it safe to clean dinner brass plates with this spray?** A: Yes it is. However, you will have to clean with water and soap before use **Q: Will this remove water spots from antique brass hardware?** A: Yes, this product is wonderful to use on brass, if you use this on copper just be careful to not scourch or burn the metal.... Also, make sure you want the tarnish gone. Polishing some antiques can destroy there value. **Q: I want to clean a large copper tabletop fountain. after applying this cleaner and rinsing it off in the bathtub, will the residue clog the drain?** A: Sorry I can’t answer if it will clog drain or not.
