WD 1TB Elements SE - Portable SSD, USB 3.0, Compatible with PC, Mac - WDBAYN0010BBK-WESN

I had a Toshiba (at left in the photo) legacy USB drive and it just crashed. It not only crashed but it is completely non-recoverable. Every file is lost. I used every Linux trick I know and it's toast. This WD is the replacement. It took only a couple of minutes to re-partition the new drive to ext4 (for Linux) and I ran my end-of-day backup routine much faster than I had experienced in the past. It is not as fast as my internal SSDs (I have two) but it's remarkably faster than a legacy USB HD. Minuscule footprint and weighs nothing. It's also thin and would easily fit in a front jeans pocket. I am upset that I lost some files but I am glad that it happened. It looks like the traditional HDD is fast becoming a thing of the past.

This surprisingly small SSD worked perfectly when plugged into my Windows 10 PC.

This is a big improvement from my 10-year old external hard drive. I was able to backup everything from my PC in just a few minutes instead of hours. This saved me a lot of time. It does get a little hot (so do my other external hard drives), but it is not an issue for me since I only use it for backing up my data. In short, it is compact (2.5”x2.5”) and fast. I am happy with the purchase!

I bought this hard drive almost 2 years ago. This hard drive do not give any kind of problems and very small for the amount of data I use it for. No noise. Installation is just plug in. Also very durable. I cannot complain.

I got this thing originally for storing my Xbox games since I was running out of room and the NEXT GEN requires SSD. It will store games and everything else (BUT) the games you store you CANNOT PLAY THEM. It makes sense tho..i don’t know why I thought id be able to store games and play them as well on this little thing. *The weight is so light that it feels like a McDonald’s toy , like it’s just a shell of plastic. But it has TB of space and works like a charm, I now use it for my pc for storing music and videos I create. * cord length is a foot maybe a little longer

This seems to be the best value external ssd you can get at the moment. It's just the perfect sweet spot between convenience, storage space, speed, and of course, pricing. I bought one on sale at first, then got two more to replace all of my old external hard drives.

This is my first SSD external hard drive, I’m shocked how small it is considering it’s a 2 TB capacity drive. Installation was quick and easy, it takes no space on my desktop, I hide it behind the computer. Since it runs on USB there’s no power cord, which is great. I’m using it with a 2017 iMac. So far so good I was able to transfer the data from a backup to the drive really fast with no hiccups.

Great little SSD drive! Very fast and easy to use. The size is smaller then a pack of gum. Easy to connect with the provided cable. Sleek design.

こんなにコンパクトでいいの！？と最初は思いましたが、慣れるとこのサイズじゃないと大きすぎる気がします。動作も高速ですし、2年近く毎日使っていますが問題なし。素晴らしい商品だと思います。

Para ser mi primer SSD externo, me dio muy buena impresión, su velocidad de lectura y escritura es muy buena, el tamaño es realmente sorprendente más pequeño que una tarjeta de crédito o débito. Si piensas adquirir un ssd, en relación precio-calidad, te conviene adquirirlo. En unos meses daré mi opinión respecto a su durabilidad.
