Even in Loctite's own product description: "Seals welds and porous metal parts."It also is a medium strength thread locker, not high strength. Disassembly may require a little more force to break the fastener loose, but applying heat is not likely to be necessary unless it is a especially weak fastener. **Q: This cannot be used with any type of plastic? I have two metal set screws (very small) into some ridgid plastic, would this 290 be OK?** A: If I remember correctly, Loctite in general requires two conditions. First, that there is a lack of oxygen as in between the screw threads. But, I think it also requires that there are ferrous ions present. Which means it might work, and it might not. **Q: Have you used 290 on electrical screws connecting wires?** A: "Electrical connectors and set screws" is listed in the description, but I haven't personally tried it. I'm looking for a thread locker and conductor aid to use on 240v/212°F heating element connections. Yep It works, I would purchase again *by A***N on September 15, 2018* Being the green it will wick into the threads after you set a screw where you want it. I had a few adjustment screws I used this on. Got the screw set where I needed it, added the loctite, haven't had any problems with those screws loosening up.
